Sew the head up. Attach the horn in the middle of the head. Sew the horn
circle-wise through the front loops of the stitches.
5.
Next, take ears and weave in the yarn ends on the top. Fold it, secure it in this
way and sew it to the head.
I sew through
the edges. I make
stitches in the
front and in the
back.Then on the
sides. I make 1
stitch on each side
6.
Sew the body up.
Then take the finished
body piece and attach the
head to the body.
7.
Secure the
head little
down as
well for it
to stay
tight
Attach the brooch
pin.
8.
Sew the hole shut through the both
loops of each edge, attach and sew
on the arms and legs. I embroider the
nostrils at once
9.
(I would describe the way I do its hair,
Hair you can do it in any way you like it)
I have prepared such cuts with a knot
at one end measuring around 15 cm (5.9
inches). Each cut is a mix of two DMC
cotton threads and flake yarn strands
Thread a needle with other cut end
and run it through tiny spaces between
crochet stitches. The cut end is kept
inside because of the knot. If it does go
out, try to make the same step in any
other place. Run each cut through one
and the same point. This area will be
hidden in the ‘hairdo”.
I grow fringe first.
10.
All cuts stay in
line, there is no
“hole in hair”.
Then grow
hair at the
back with
no hole as
well.
Braid the hair, tightly spin the thread
around and cut off some extra hair. I
glue on the braid, also I add little glue
on head and press on the hair. Thus the
glue will not be visible. This will help
when you wear the brooch as the
unicorn’s hair won’t knot and tear. Also,
the area with knots is hidden.
11.
glue
glue
Glue on eyes, embroider the
eyelids above the eyes with a black
mouline thread and cut the fringe
glue
straight. You can starch up the
fringe or add some glue on its edge
for it to lie smooth.
12.
Add tone to cheeks and this
brooch is ready! I hope you’ve had a
wonderful time and happy with the
result.
Do not be shy to share the result
with me and I would be grateful if
you provide a feedback about the
pattern itself, what you liked or
disliked about it.
