Welcome kids, play games.
**Be asking kids what two songs they want to worship to and do quick search on
youtube for video with lyrics and/or motions (it's easiest to google name of song + kids
to find a video like this)**

Good morning, friends! Let's get started by worshiping and praising God together.

11:24a 7:00 Activity 1: Blind Cooking Challenge
"Can you imagine cooking something blindfolded? That would probably be frustrating.
It might be a little easier if you had someone talk you through the steps, though!"
Ask for four volunteers and put them into pairs. Two people will be blindfolded. The
partner who can see will direct the blindfolded partner to make a cucumber sandwich.
The partner giving instructions can only talk their partner through making it, they
cannot use their hands to help. Only the blindfolded person can use their hands.
(The sandwich will have meat and cheese between slices of cucumber.)
"That looked kinda tough! The person making the sandwich couldn't see who they
were talking to but they knew their partner was there to help them! Having someone to
talk to seemed to help a ton!"
11:31a 5:00 Activity 2: What's on the Menu?
"When you have questions about something at a restaurant who do you ask?
That's right, the server! They typically know the answers to your questions about the
menu.
*Put the kids in pairs. One will be the server and one will be the customer. The
customer will get the printable which has questions for them to ask their server.*
"Sometimes we have questions about the menu and we ask the server about it. They
may not always know the answer so we should be patient and polite while they find
out.
Let's see what we can do when WE don't have the answers we need!"

11:36a 7:00 Bible Story: Hannah Prays for a Baby
*Choose a volunteer to help tell the story (someone who isnt shy)*
We are going to be ready from 1 Samuel 1:4-20 today.
Read verse 4-6
"Even though Hannah was loved very much, she was very sad because she didn't
have any children of her own. But that's not all. Hannah was being teased because
she couldn't have children. She was pretty annoyed in the beginning."
*Ask volunteer to make an annoyed face and have the rest of the kids join in making
that face*
Read verse 7-8
"Because the teasing wen on for so long, Hannah began to cry and not eat!
*Ask volunteer to make a sad, weepy face and have the rest of the kids join in making
that face*
Read verse 9-10
"Hannah was distraught. She didn't know what to do. So she went to the temple and
began to pray.
*Ask volunteer to read what Hannah prayed in verse 11*
Read verse 12-14
"Eli, the priest, thought Hannah had too much to drink because he couldn't hear was
she was praying. Why couldn't Eli hear her?
Because she was praying in her heart!"
*Ask volunteer to point to their heart and have the rest of the kids join in*
Read verse 15-16
Hannah had some big emotions on her heart. Did you catch any of them? Shout them
out!
(Deeply troubled, great anguish, grief)
Read verse 17-18
"Hannah was no longer downcast after praying to God, receiving Eli's kind words, and
eating some good food!
*Ask volunteer to make a sad face and then change to happy and have the rest of the
kids join in making that face*
Read verse 19-20
"When Hannah felt all these emotions inside of her, what did she do?
She talked to God about it! She prayed and poured out her soul to God. God made it
possible for her to have a son, and Samuel would grow up to be a spectacular prophet
for God!
11:43a 3:00 Big Idea: Step two, talk to God. 2
Ask a volunteer to stand near the Big Idea table ready to lift the plate cover at your
signal.
"Whether we have big or small emotions, happy or sad news, praises or frustrations,
God wants us to talk about it all! Especially as we prepare to do the work God called
us to do. Remember: (have volunteer lift plate cover and loudly proclaim Big idea)

We are going to read Pslam 16 and look for the things David talked to God about in
these verses.
Read verse 1
"David asks God to keep him safe"
Read verse 2
"Nothing matters to David if he didn't have God"
Read verse 3-5
"God was the only thing David needed and he knew God had the ability to keep him
safe"
Read verse 6-7
"David praised God for guiding him"
Read verse 8
"David told God he would be faithful to God"
Read versed 9-11
"David said he had joy and was hopeful in the future God has planned for him"
Because Jesus died for us on the cross, we can talk to God whenever we want. Don't
forget to add this step in your recipe of life and talk to God!
11:58a 3:00 Reflection: Recipe Card, Step Two
Hand out the recipe cards to the kids and help them fill in the blanks on their recipe
cards.
12:01p 5:00 Memory Verse: Crazy Plates 4
There is a set of plates with the words from the memory verse on them. Hand them
out and have the kids work to unscramble the verse. Have everyone read the verse
together once it's unscrambled.

Collect offerings
Gather prayer requests
Close in prayer
12:11p 10:00 Activity 4: Hat to God
Kids can work on this activity and hangout once they are done until their parents arrive.
Give each kid a chef hat and have permanent markers out for them to use.
"God loves when we pray. Sometimes it's helpful to write out our prayers. Let's write or
draw a prayer to God on the brim of our chef's hats!"

Pass out kids kash (everybody gets $2 for coming/participating, extra $5 for bringing
Bible or friend, extra $1 if leader noticed kid exhibiting behavior that warrants it)
Reminder: shopping is last Sunday of the month and extra $5 if on the last Sunday,
memory verse is memorized
Play games until parents pick up kids
