2. We do not undertake additional testing other than above stated tests.
3. Only photo copy of all material test certificates shall be submitted to inspection authority for review.

SHOP TESTING AND INSPECTION PARAMETERS IN RESPECT OF JASH CARBON STEEL
ZERO VELOCITY VALVE
1. MATERIALS TESTING:
a) Major components of Carbon Steel Zero Velocity Valve:
Copy of test certificates, if received from the manufacturer/supplied of the material will be furnished at
the time of final inspection of valve at our works. If no certificate is received from the manufacturer
supplier of such materials, we will get the materials tested for chemical composition for the important
elements of the metal. One chemical analysis certificate for each lot purchased will be furnished.
The Chemical testing of material would either be carried out by us in our in-house laboratory or done at
outside testing laboratories such as Metallurgical Services, Mumbai, Ajit Testing Laboratory, Indore, or
any other suitable testing laboratory.
b) Material of Spring:
Copy of test certificates, if received from the manufacturer/supplier of the material will be furnished at
the time of final inspection of valve at our works. If no certificate is received from the
manufacturer/supplier of such materials, we will get the materials tested for chemical composition for
the important elements of the metal. One chemical analysis certificate will be furnished for each lot
purchased.

c) Material of Bypass Pipe:
Copy of test certificates, if received from the manufacturer/supplier of the material will be furnished at
the time of final inspection of valve at our works. If no certificate is received from the
manufacturer/supplier of such materials, we will get the materials tested for chemical composition for
the important elements of the metal. One chemical analysis certificate will be furnished for each lot
purchased.

outside testing laboratories such as Metallurgical Services, Mumbai, Ajit Testing Laboratory, Indore, or
any other suitable testing laboratory.
2. DIMENSIONAL VERIFICATION:
Actual dimensions of the Outer diameter and overall length of valve between Barrel/Flange end of the
Zero Velocity Valve will be verified with respect to the dimensions given in our general arrangement
drawings. Variations in dimensions, if any, shall be within the permissible limits as per approved
Drawing.

3. SHOP HYDROTEST - Main Body of Zero Velocity Valve and Bypass Valve:
The main body of the valve shall be kept in close condition using the dish/dummy ends at both ends of the
valve. In case of more than one valve the valves will be kept in close condition with welded to each other at
barrel end or bolted in case of flange end. The Bypass valve will be mounted on bypass line of the zero
velocity valve and shall be kept in open condition during the testing.
A Hydraulic pressure equal to the specified Test pressure in the approved GA drawing shall be applied using
the hand pump or motor pump for a duration of 15 Minutes. No water leakage permissible through the main
body of the zero velocity and bypass valve under above period.
Notes: -
1. Use of dish, flanged dish (in case of flange end valve), circle or other dummies, gasket and fasteners
shall be permissible for keeping the main body of valve in closed condition during above tests.
2. The valve may be offered duly primer coated condition from inside for preventing it from corrosion.
3. We do not undertake to carry out any test other than those stated above unless agreed to by us
specifically in writing prior to the placement of order.
4. A Valve can be designed, manufactured and shop tested for no leakage, but installation factors
beyond the control of the manufacturer can affect leakage characteristics. Therefore, Field Leakage
Test after installation of the valve is not agreed until supervision of installation is carried out by our
engineer.
