Art Appreciation

M1A1

1. Answer the ff. questions: As you listen to the song, how do you interpret
it? What is the message? What is the songwriter trying to say about him?
Why do you think he wrote a song for him? For you, what makes him great as
an artist? (10 pts)
First, it narrates the story of Gogh's stay in the institution in Saint-Remy. He
painted mostly from his chamber or the courtyard, but subsequently expanded his
scope. Then, on the line, "For they could not love you," he died tragically. He was
a passionate painter.  It was his passion, however; his works could never
reciprocate the love.   His paintings, drawings, and writings serve as metaphors for
his artistic legacy. They resemble his eyes, as though he were monitoring the
world. Finally, in the midst of the catastrophe, we failed to reach the conclusion
that Van Gogh's endless suffering was true.

2. Inspired by the song “ Vincent”, make your personal statement following

the video tutorial below. To write your personal statement think of ways on
how to present it in a more interesting way. Remember that a personal
mission statement is about you. This will serve as reminder about how you
view your life and what you want to be or to do in life. Be creative. Write
your personal statement in a creative way like in a bookmark, sticker, in a
frame, in a nice paper to put in a wallet, etc. You also add drawings and nice
art to your work or you may also feature the best of Van Gogh’s Art like
sunflower or stars etc. When done, take a photo for submission. Then make
sure to insert date and signature on your artwork for authenticity. (20 pts.)
Loving oneself is the first step towards life-long happiness.
LIFE WILL BE NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE IF WE DO NOT HAVE THE
COURAGE TO EXPLORE DIFFERENT THINGS.
