• According to a report by Researches and Markets, the Quick Service Restaurants (QSR)
market in India is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 18% during 2021-2022.
• The QSR Industry is expected to reach an enormous size of ~ ₹826.37 billion by FY2025.
• The QSR segment is experiencing growth due to technological innovations like improved
Point of Sale (POS) systems, varied payment options, and improved geolocation to aid the
delivery segment.
• The takeaway segment is expected to grow at ~18.0%, and the home delivery segment is
expected to grow at around 17.4% between FY 2021 and 2025.

Types of QSR
1. Self-service restaurants: the customers approach the counter and order. For receiving the order,
they collect it on their own from the counter
2. Assisted self-service restaurants: places where either the order is collected at the table of the
customer or the food is delivered to the table of the customer
3. Full serviced restaurants: places where both the order placing and the food delivery are done by the
staff at the table.
