CDX & IMDS
Compliance Data Exchange & International Data System
DXC develop two systems to collect substances information: IMDS and CDX.
• IMDS is only for Automotive supply chain and their legislation (REACH, ELV),
• CDX is for any other companies, and enlarge the scope also to other regulation such as RoHS, Prop 65

CREATE A COMPONENT
Fill in part weight
The difference between measured weight (real weight manually inserted) and calculated
weight (automatic calculation of weight from the structure) fulfills the following range:
0-0.99g +/- 20%;
1-99g +/- 20%
99-999g +/- 5%;
999-9.99kg +/-2%
9.99kg-99.99kg +/- 1%;
>99.99kg +/- 0.5% limit
16
CREATE A COMPONENT
This field gives an overview about all ingredients in the tree, which are included
in the specified regulation (REACH, RoHS, Batteries, Packaging…)‐defined in your
company administration information or by the client required regulations.
The regulations are divided by regulations that are in scope of the manufacturer
and those in scope of recipients.
In the “Confirmation” section you can state, if your Component/Semicomponent
complies to a regulation (in scope) and if you’ve provided all relevant data.

CREATE A COMPONENT
ATTACHING A COMPONENT-REFERENCE
Fill in the quantity of the
reference component in the
component created.
CDX takes the Quantity and multiplies
by the Measured weight per item to
calculate a weight for this portion of
the complete assembly
In this case, 10 x 800g (0.8kg)=8000g,
measured weight is 10000g, so the
Deviation is ‐20%

Basic Functions - Free of Charge
Once your company registers in CDX, each user can create MDSs and evaluate owned MDSs against legislations for their
products and company and provide them to their customers at no charge.
Data sheets for own components can also be imported from other formats (IMDS, IPC1752, IPC1754 or IEC62474).
Incorporate Received MDSs - Prices for Material Data Reporting
A CDX MDS license is required if you want to receive and continue processing MDSs from your suppliers. You can
purchase the appropriate license thru the integrated order process.
Each license is valid for 12 months.The number of received data sheets per supplier is not limited.
