This document describes an issue where the virtual switch will not start after a network interruption in HP-UX 11i. The error message "hpvmnet: WARNING (host): Unable to start vswitch 'vs00'. Lan in use" is displayed. The solution involves using lanscan to check the hardware configuration of LAN cards, and checking the /etc/rc.log file to see the HPVM host startup messages, where it is showing an error unable to load a required kernel module.
