ABSTRACT

Adolescence is a highly dynamic period characterised by rapid growth and development. In this
modern generation, technology is the most popular wherein people made it as their daily habit. Day by day,
teenagers are becoming more suspicious that opened them to the world of social media. It creates a half way
gap from how things are used to be settled before. The advantage of technology turned out some children
and even adolescents into reckless and disrespectful. Teenagers read more novel, wattpad, and other
possessive series rather than studying lecture sin in class. Worst is that every day we are becoming more
addicted to it, which it has eaten out entire life. Social status is now the focus of the netizens instead of
learning good attitude and proper manners. Including the tradition of courtship that is slowly forgotten in the
history of having new technologies, instead of taking the right way and following the mandate of our
parents, we still chose to disobey them. Looking at the negativity, within just one click or through texting we
fell in love and get into relationship even though we haven’t yet met the person. Internet access is a well-
known fastest connection service to research everything we need to know, however, some sites that must
not be seen by children and are supposed to be strictly guided by the parents are usually what they intended
to watch. For example, porn sites, and other issues like exorcism or a page where anti-Christ exist. The rise of
technology made a change in our society without concerning its consequences. The more we enjoy it, the
least we notice the differences we are becoming into someone we don’t know anymore. Teenage
pregnancies are associated with social issues, including lower educational levels and poverty. But most
teenage girls don’t plan to get pregnant, but many do. Teen pregnancies carry extra health risk to both the
mother and the baby. Often, teens don’t get prenatal care soon enough, which can lead to problems later
on. Aside from that, rape is another problem that women are physically force without giving valid consent or
the right of the woman. People who have been raped can be traumatized and development posttraumatic
stress disorder. Serious injuries can result along with the risk of pregnancy and sexuality transmitted
infection that a person may face violence or threats from the rapist.

II. INTRODUCTION

A. DEPED: COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION TO DEVELOP RESPONSIBLE

B. We researchers agreed to DepED: Comprehensive sex education to develop responsible youth is a must to
be implemented.

C. The first reason why we agreed to implement the DepEd: Comprehensive sex education to develop
responsible youth is to help them getting aware of risks and involving to self-tolerance through sex. Second,
sexual education is needed to introduce so that it may the rising of incidence of early pregnancy. Third, to
enable adolescents being capable of not making rational decisions that can possibly cause to Human-
immunodeficiency Virus. Fourth, sex education policy also aimed to make the youth learn of what they are
doing and beware of sexual violence. Lastly, cases like this should properly be prioritized to reduce women
who are victims of sexual abuse.
II. DISCUSSION

The first reason why we agreed to implement the DepEd: Comprehensive sex education to develop
responsible youth is to help them getting aware of risks and involving to self-tolerance through sex. In
according to the National Youth Commission, “youth” is the critical period in a person’s growth and develop
from the onset of adolescents toward the peak of mature, self-reliant, and responsible adulthood by
developing them through physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being, they will realize their
potential for improving the quality of life. In addition, the youth’s abilities, talents, skills and redirecting their
creativity, inventive genius and well-spring of enthusiasm and hope for the freedom of our people from fear,
hunger and injustice.

Second, sexual education is needed to introduce so that it may the rising of incidence of early
pregnancy. According to U.S Department of Health and Human Services, some girls/women get pregnant
because they are unable to refuse unwanted sex or to resist force or coerced sex. The Republic Act 10354,
formulating and applying laws and policies to prevent early marriage is to keep girls in school and protect
them from coerced sex using economic incentives and livelihood programmes to delay these cases.
Mobilizing their families and communities to support girls to grow and develop into women before becoming
mothers.

Third, to enable adolescents being capable of not making rational decisions that can possibly cause to
Human-immunodeficiency Virus. In Republic Act 8504, this disease recognizes no territorial, social, political
and economic boundaries for which there no known cure. To prevent this, is a must to use a new condom
everytime you have sex. If you’re pregnant, get medical care right away. Tell your sexual partners if you have
HIV, for which the infected will not only suffer physically but also he/she will socially be abuse because of
discrimination that is in all forms and subtleties against every individual with HIV.

Fourth, sex education policy also aimed to make the youth learn of what they are doing and beware
of sexual violence. By the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assemble sex
education policy aimed at providing student with appropriate life skills that can advance gender equality and
empowerment. It educates values, positive attitude, towards sexuality, responsible and independence.

Lastly, cases like this should properly be prioritized to reduce women who are victims of sexual abuse.
According to Republic Act 9262, violence against women and in the presence of other psychosocial risk
factors such as substance abuse and domestic violence should be assessed by doing so they will hinder the
necessary acceptance of responsibility and ability to change dysfunctional patterns.

III. CONCLUSION

Therefore we researchers conclude that DepEd: Comprehensive sex education to develop responsible
youth is a big answer to boost the youth’s understanding and acknowledging their responsibilities in a way
they can be guided very well. Given that the youth are the future of every nation, it is good to be aware of
the things between sex questioning arises. It can be discussed in a matured way without condoning certain
behaviour. Relying to that, sex education is important to be inserted in a person’s life, especially to the
secondary level students who are the ones that are prone of critical stage of our growth. Sex education is the
key for a better future in a serious nation-building undertaking. A bridge of knowledge where all people will
be benefitted as well as a lesson which will help adolescents enhance their ability to deal with personal
relationships own addiction.

In conclusion, we must realize the importance of sex education being thought in high school student.
This is to ensure the student that are our future generation will be well prepared to stand up against all the
unexpected obstacles in their future. After all, education does not hurt, but ignorant does. In addition, young
people can also learn to appreciate and recognize their own sex bodies just as good, beautiful and special as
other God’s perfect creation. Moreover, it delivers confidence on them to value themselves and others. In
other words, it is about learning how to grow, reproduce and change over the years.
