Top Five Places To Visit In Rishikesh

1. Triveni Ghat

The merging of three confluences as the name suggest, Triveni Ghat is the central point of this
cocktail of spirituality. The three rivers meeting at this point is not just a treat to eyes but a rather
better refreshment to the soul. With the tottering lights from Ganga aartis everyday to diving in the
rippling waves of this holy river, Triveni ghat offers you the religious touch Rishikesh has to offer. To
smoothen up the topping, the boat rides for tourists there just complete the whole picture where ib
sight seeing is blended with natural marvels.

A comfortable auto ride will land you to the place and paying a nominal fee would allow you to
perform Ganga aarti for a day. Triveni Ghat is yet another great magnet for tourists with flushing
intrests in natural beauty and spirituality.

How To Reach: Share an auto and you will end up perfectly at Triveni Ghat. Rishikesh Railway Station
stays close to this gorgeous ghat at a distance of 3 Kms and the Jolly Grant Airport is stretched at a
distance of 22 Kms.

2. Neer Garh Waterfall

The jade and prussian blue water waves descending from the crystal cliffs is a real go-to place. This
two tiered waterfall is the reflection of empyrean beauty standing upfront at a distance of 5 and 7
kms from Lakshman Jhula. The adjescent waterpools next to these gigantic waterfalls allow to
tempted tourists to soak in the calm water and bathe into the fresh streams. Two narrow yet
beautiful bridges erected on these waterfalls are the awe-inspiring add ons to this pleasure ride. If
you are into the exotic natural beauties then you should mark this spot as a 'must visit'. Fluttering
bees and butterflies on wildflowers with a miced scent of cardamoms are more than enough to
purify your soul.

How To Reach: These waterfalls are located at a distance of 9 Kms from Rishikesh Railway Station.
Hiring a scooty or a bike for first 250 metres is the best choice if you are into cold breezes and
adventure trips. You have to trek 1 Km further if you are willing to float in the bigger waterfall.
Another 3 Kms will land you to the marvellous and magnificent third one. The stop on NH-7 or
Badrinath highway from where this trek starts is about 5kms far from the famous Lakshman Jhula.

3. Lakshman Jhula Bridge


Picture yourself walking on waters. The best and the most remarkable attractions of Rishikesh will
open the portal to your land of wonders. This 450 feets long Iron bridge is stretched over river
Ganges, connecting Pauri district with Tehri district. The grean and blue waters rippling down this
bridge is enough to quench the longings of unsatiated tourists.

Legends say that Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama crossed this river on a jute rope.
Later on, a jute bridge was built at the same place to commemorate Lakshman till 1889.
Unfortunately, this jute bridge was washed away by a stormy flood back in 1924 and iron and steel
took over the traditional methods and this mighty bridge was built in 1930s.

Hanging in between the two districts, this narrow bridge is a magnificent magnet for tourists and
vegabonds. To serve the pleasure of architecture, a number of prominent temples like
Trayambakeshwar temple, Sachha Akhileshwar Mahadev temple, Lakshman temple and Sri
Raghunathji's temple wave in from banks of the river Ganga. Bag in your cameras before you plan a
visit on this 'walk on foot' bridge because even the lenses are small enough to capture the might of
thid overflowing gorgeous river beneath you.

How to Reach: Share an auto and you will end up perfectly at Lakshman Jhula. Rishikesh Railway
Station stays close to this gorgeous ghat at a distance of 4 Kms and the Jolly Grant Airport is
stretched at a distance of 23 Kms.

4. The Beatles Ashram

Know the source of songs you lips sync. Imagine walking on the narrow lanes of hilly Rishikesh with
the songs of Beatles band playing in your earpods. You heard it right. The essence of spirituality is
buried in the winds of Rishikesh. Little birdie murmers that our beloved Beatles band spent years in
India at this Beetles Ashram formerly known as the 'Chauraasi Kutiya'. Some of the great works were
produced while there stay at this miraculous spot and their echoes are still engraved in the air you
breathe in at that place. The Beatles flew in for the search of spiritual nectar in around 1968 and
stretched their visit to India for over an year.

The Ashram was left abandoned after few years but back in 2015, it was reopened for the tourists
and localites. Fan craze of Beatles drag in tourists here while photo fanatics and peace seeking souls
find their dens in here. Historians, nature lovers, solitude seekers find this place utterly magnificent
and right for the spot.

The major attractions to lay eyes on in this ashram are the managnamous dome shaped construction
with breathtaking garafitti artworks, sufficient enough to stun the minds of enthusiasts. If you are a
Beatles fan, then Ved bhawan is your place with all the spectacilar paintings engraving the visit of
Beatles band on the walls.

Another major stun-guns are the walls of Siddhi Bhawan with strange, mysterious yet intriguing
handwritings telling a tale of their own.

For peace seekers, Anand Bhawan is the just required heaven with beautifully designed meditation
chambers.

The Beatles Ashram is said to have a spirit of it's own. The serenity is beyond any definition and the
vibe is just of another level. To fulfill your visit to Rishikesh, an hourly visit to this gorgeous landmark

How To Reach: Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh is well-connected to the major cities of the country
through railways and airways. The place is located at a distance of around 30 kilometers from Jolly
Grant airport and 13 kilometers from the nearest railway station. Local taxis can be easily hired to
reach the ashram from the railway station and the airport.

5. Kanja Puri Devi Temple:

Combing religion and adventure together will bring up the most estatic cocktails of all times. Luckily,
Kanja Puri Devi Temple offers it's devotees the same kind of pleasure where in travelling is enjoyed
at the brisk of religious devotion.

Kanja Puri Devi temple hold immense importance in hindu religions. It is one of the three Siddha
Peeths lauing at the top of mount Tehri Garhwal District. Situated at the height of 1676 metres on
the hill top, Kanjapuri Devi Temple is one of the 52 Shaktipeeth in Uttarakhand. It is said that the
chest of Burnt Sati was fallen on the grounds of Kanjapuri Devi Temple. Devotees from all around the
glove assemble here during Dusshehras and Navratris and a grand and gorgeous celebration is held
at the temple.

To dip your toes in streams of adventures, one must know that 80 steep steps with striking scenes
will take you to this place. Pin pointing the picturesque, this place offers you breath-taking views of
ice capped mountain tops and prominent peaks like Swarg Rohini, Gangotri, Bandarpanch and
Chaukhamba. Your camera can have the pleasure to captivate the absorbing sunset and sunrise
views from the complex of this temple.
How to Reach: Kanja Puri Devi Temple is located at a distance of 25 Kms from Rishikesh and 8 Kms
from Narendra Nagar. A taxi from either of the areas will drop you to your desired temple location.
Nearest railway station from this temple is Rishikesh Railway station which is at a distance of 25
Kms.
