Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

This chapter includes background of the study, statement of the

problem, significance of the study, and scope and limitation.

Background of the study

Access to Facebook is free of charge, and the company earns most of its money

from advertisements on the Web site. New users can create profiles, upload

photos, join a preexisting group, and start new groups. The site has many

components, including Timeline, a space on each user’s profile page where

users can post their content and friends can post messages; Status, which

enables users to alert friends to their current location or situation; and News

Feed, which informs users of changes to their friend’s profiles and status.

Users can chat with each other and send each other private messages. Users

can signal their approval content on Facebook with the Like Button, a feature

that also appear on many other Web sites. (Hall)

When someone announces something, it usually means that the news to be

shared would be important announcement can be joyous occasion, as when my

Facebook friends proclaim their love for each other, and that they will be

married or engaged. Companies announce both good and bad news because

staff need to know; ignorance is not a bliss social media tools are great for

announcing a grand opening and celebrations; giving feedback and

shared a range of political and entertainment content, but were all sharing

links to the same “advertising click farms” outside of Facebook. Facebook, in a

press release, identified 12 of the 134 total pages and accounts that were taken

down. We list down the false or misleading articles shared by these accounts

and pages, which have been fact checked by Rappler. (Bueza, 2018)

Knowing the importance of delivering announcements in Corinthian Institute of

Cavite using social media is significant knowing that you gather the right

information and trusted page because it’s handled by the admins of Corinthian

Institute of Cavite.

Significance of the Study

First, for the students they will have a knowledge about knowing the

importance of gathering the right info and importance of every announcements.

Second, for the teachers using social media by delivering announcements

is easier because knowing that a lot of students spends most of their time at

social media.

Third, for the community most of the people gathered wrong or fake

information from the fake accounts. This research will help the people to know

the importance of right announcements.

 Lastly, for the future researchers they will have an extra knowledge in

knowing the importance of delivering announcements and it will serve as guide

to them to conduct another study.

Scope and Delimitation

This study aims to determine the importance and efficiency of Corinthian

Institute of Cavite page in terms of delivering announcement and to know if

you gathered right information.

The researchers conducted this to add knowledge about the importance of

pages that we use to gathered information by selected student of grade ten

Integrity during the school year 2019-2020. the aspect look was the

importance of Corinthian Institute of Cavite page for the students, teachers,

and community.

Review of Related Literature

This chapter contains review of related literature and studies, conceptual

framework, and operational definitions of terms.

Not only does facebook help you figure out who your target audience is, it helps

your draw more of them to your page and increases your customer following.

This is done by using your page to showcase new products and services, share

To promote prosocial concerns and call attention to social problems, public

service advertising practitioners are increasingly trying to involve laypeople in

creating and delivering persuasive campaign messages. An emerging media

channel for these efforts is websites that feature user-generated content (UGC),

particularly the video-sharing website YouTube. However, despite this trend,

little is known about the extent to which a public service announcement (PSA)

video will be more effective depending on who produced it. Accordingly, this

study empirically tests the degree to which the persuasive impact of a video

differs depending on whether the producer is a layperson or an expert. We

draw theoretical rationales from several areas to compare the impact of a

perceivably similar producer and an expert producer on attitudes towards

video, issue importance and behavioral intention. We also analyze how issue

involvement moderates these producer effects. Implications for consumer

educators, policy makers and marketers are discussed with specific reference

to social media. (Hove, 2015)

A method consistent with certain implementations involves delivering a

triggered declarative object (TDO) to a television receiver device that carries out

a programmed routine when user activated and includes an announcement

definition that announces presence of the TDO to the at the announcement

time; and the TDO including data that defines a time of display of an

announcement and a location on a video display for display of the

announcement of the TDO. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since

other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

Pre-announcement information is private information gathered in anticipation

of a public disclosure. Event-period information is private information useful in

conjunction with the announcement itself. Typically, rational models of trade

introduce a model of rational trade with both features and discuss its

It is important to know the page that you are getting announcement because

there are still a lot of people who believe in fake accounts. We should know how

to identify fake and real account or page.

Operational definition of terms

Announcement is announcing a news that is important. Is a public and typically

formal statement about a fact occurrence, or intention.

Social media application that most of the people have. A website and application

that enables the user to create and share content or to participate in social

networking.

Knowledge is your knowing about something. Is a familiarity, awareness, or

understanding someone or something such as facts information, description,

or skills which is acquired through experience or education by perceiving,

discovering, or learning.

Delivering is delivering either announcement or something

Gathering describes as gather or collecting something

Importance is the state or fact of being of great significance or value

Page is a Facebook page or public profile that is created for business or artist.

User is a person that uses or operates something, especially a computer or

other machine

Students can be children, teenagers, or adults that are going school.

Methodology
This chapter includes the research design, sampling technique,

instrument, research procedure, and statistical treatment.

 The researchers used the descriptive method in order to know how the

students will be aware the importance of CIC page by delivering announcement

that describes the characteristics of the population or phenomenon that is

being studied. This methodology focuses more on the “what” of the research

subject rather than the “why” of the research subject. (Bhat A. 2019)

Sampling Technique

The associates of this research will be able to limit the selected opinion of

JHS students from CIC by using the disproportional sampling method it’s a

probability sampling technique used to address the difficulty researchers

encounter with stratified samples of unequal size. The researchers use the

disproportional sampling method to be able to generate the ideas of JHS

students about the CIC page, by conducting a survey with JHS students from

CIC academic year 2019-2020 with a total of 40 respondents.

Instrument

The researchers created 10 questions based on the researchers’

knowledge and some internet sources but most of the questions comes from

the researchers mind and was approved by the research advisers. The content

of the survey questionnaires was aimed to get relevant information that

student knows about CIC page, the questions are all answerable by ‘always’,

‘sometimes’, and ‘never’.

Research Procedure

First and foremost, the researchers made a request letter that will ask

permission to conduct a survey within the JHS students of Corinthian Institute

of Cavite. The letter was signed by the researchers and presented it to their

research advisers before giving it to the school principal asking for the approval

and signature. Lastly, after receiving their approval, on February 12, 2020, the

researchers’ conducted a survey to the JHS students of CIC.

Statistical Treatment

The researchers’ used percentage to determine the number of students of

Corinthian Institute of Cavite regarding the presentation of analysis in the

survey forms.

Table below presents the statistical method that is used to interpret the

gathered data.

Table 4.1 shows that out of 100 respondents 69.33% knows the importance of

CIC page and 27% of the respondents says sometimes, 3.67% says never.

Today when you look at Facebook and the groups or fan pages that exist on the

site, you will find that every popular brand is there. They are not only there but

are active on almost a daily basis. For the present generation, who spend a lot

more needed o change their approach. Facebook provides the best possible

solution in this scenario. However, it is not only the big brands that make the

full use of Facebook’s social media power. Even small business can benefit

greatly if they make optimal use of the various features that Facebook has to

Table 4.2 show that out of 100 respondents 37.5% of them represents how CIC

page is effective to the students, 51.25% of them says sometimes and 11.25%

never.

First impressions can be the difference between making a sale & somebody

never Liking you Facebook page to begin with. People often make that decision

based on a profile photo or cover image. Use your company logo for your profile

photo and keep it simple. (Ayres, 2014)

Table 4.3 show that out of 100 respondents 38% of them sees the usefulness of

the CIC page of the students 95% says sometimes and 13.66% says never.

Social listening is the act of monitoring social conversations around certain

topics. It helps you understand what’s important to your audience and identify

trends your target audience is following. Audience research is similar to social

listening. It searches the keywords your audience will be using, but it’s more

focused on your specific product. (Dukart, 2018)

The researchers conducted this study about the Importance of Corinthian

Institute of Cavite page in delivering announcement among selected Junior

High School student of Corinthian Institute of Cavite in order to answer the

following questions that researcher conducted, this research aim to benefit the

student, teachers, community and future researchers that has related topic to

the study that we have conducted.

The researcher found certain topics that is connected to this study and use

them as references to support the study that the researchers used descriptive

method. It is a type of research that describes the characteristics of the

phenomenon that is being studied the researchers conducted a survey and

using proportional random sampling technique which involves gaining the

responds of the equal amount. The respondents answered ten survey question

each that was checked by research adviser and the survey that researchers

conducted was fulfilled with the help of the research adviser, and with the

gathered data it was suggested to use percentage to compute the collected data

100% of the 100 respondents shows the importance of Corinthian Institute of

Cavite it gives information the students, spreads legit information, and updates

fast. 100% of the respondents represents how effective is the page of

Corinthian Institute of Cavite to the respondents.

146.66% of the respondents shows how useful is the Corinthian Institute of

Cavite page to the students and teachers.

Conclusion

With the collected date the researcher therefore concludes that:

The CIC page is important because it aware the students, parents, and

teachers and it spreads accurate information about the happenings in the

school also the researchers concludes that it updates announcement but it’s

not consistent.

It’s effective because nowadays most of the people have their different social

media accounts they use social media more than watching television news so

it’s one of the advantages of social media but also the disadvantages of it are

many people make poser account and pretending to be someone that is known

like artist, governments, and etc. and the problem of that community believe

to what they read without knowing if its legit admin of the facebook page.

CIC page is useful because it makes gathering announcement easier.

Recommendation

After reading this study, students and community will now be informed about

the importance of Corinthian Institute of Cavite page in delivering

announcement and should be careful on what they believe that is posted on

social media and make sure that check who posts if it’s true or fake news. For

the future researcher who will read and possibly continue this research should

always consider the advantages and disadvantage of a facebook page that

spreads announcement.
