A. What were the roles of the following personalities in the battles of Bataan and
Corregidor
1. Manuel L. Quezon
- General MacArthur and Filipino President Manuel Quezon evacuated
Corregidor. Quezon established an exile government in Washington, D.C.,

Filipino forces in the Philippines, gathered all of his Luzon-based soldiers
on the Bataan Peninsula to face the Japanese army. General Douglas

- On Bataan, Lim commanded a division that may have suffered more
combat losses at the fight of Abucay than all American soldiers on the

love your nation you would undoubtedly love your country."
"Keep it in mind"

American leaders and forces underestimate the adversary, the Japanese,
and the troops and civilians pay the price.

commitment to win the fight. He also stated that they did not surrender if
