As per the instructions issued in the Government letter second cited the
following 18 Assistant Surgeons in Tamil Nadu Medical Service whose names have
been approved in the panel for the post of Health Officer in Tamil Nadu Public
Health Service by recruitment by transfer for the year 2019-2020 are informed that
as per Proviso to Rule 10 of Special Rules in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service they.
should undergo an Orientation Training Course (OTC) in Public Health for a period
of three months before he or she is given postings as Health Officer in Tamil Nadu
Public Health Service.

3. The individuals mentioned above are deputed to undergo an Orientation

Training Course in Public Health for a period of three months at Institute of Public
Health, Poonamallee, Chennai-56 from 02.12.2019 to 01.03.2020. Accordingly
he/she will report before the Deputy Director of Public Health and Preventive
Medicine, Institute of Public Health, Poonamallee, Chennai-56 on 02.12.2019 at 10
a.m. without fail to undergo three months Orientati_on Training Course.

4. He/She should stay in the Hostel provided at the Institute of Public

health, Poonamallee, Chennai-56. For this purpose he/she shall make his/her
arrangements to defray boarding and lodging charges during the period of OTC.
5. During the period of his/her training, they are eligible to draw the pay last
drawn by them in the post of Assistant Sµrgeon in Tamil Nadu Medical Service
before they join this Orientation Training Course. Their pay will be fixed in the
promotion post of Health Officer which carries Pay Matrix Level 23 Rs.56900-
180500 with effect from the date of their joining OTC after giving posting order to
the post of Health Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service. The Deputy
Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Institute of Public Health,
Poonamallee, Chennai-56 is permitted to draw and disburse the pay and
allowances in respect of the above 18 Assistant Surgeons during the Orientation
Training Course period.

6. The above mentioned individuals are requested to join Orientation

Training Course after effecting proper relief from
their present posts through
proper channel.

7. The receipt of this communication should be acknowledged at once.
