W H O W E A R E ?

We are a group of professionals that are passionate about geotechnical testing and the development
of science and technology around it. Our story began in 1999 with the formation of Geosoil
Engineering by the late Founder Mr. Balakrishnan to provide geotechnical testing services for the
growing construction industry. The company grew with the continuous support of our clients and with
our laboratory expansion strategies, we have grown to become one of the well-known geotechnical
laboratory in Malaysia. We are now known as Soiltechnics and are better positioned with new unique
identification.

Soiltechnics combined experience of over 60 years enabling us to deliver rich experience of working
with us. No problems are too big for us and we are always available to provide consultation in regards
to your projects. Research and development is deeply rooted in our company. Over several years, R&D
activities has improved our procedures in testing and sample preparation and continuously helping
the company to improve services. In very recent time, we have built several prototypes of automated
systems to enhance our testing capability both in laboratory and field testing. Having solid
fundamentals in mechanical characteristics of soil coupled with mechanical science and engineering
capability, we are utilizing the latest available technology to build new systems to cater for the needs
of industry within the context of available standards as well as new emerging methods in research
level.

Soiltechnics laboratory is equipped with equipment to perform all types of geotechnical testing that
is required in any site investigation project from basic to advanced test. This makes us the one-stop
solution and our ability to complete any project in
time for our clients, because we control all testing
under one roof. Our technical staff are well
trained and are experienced to perform multiple
testing, most of our staff has been in the industry
for more than 10 years.

We are capable in providing fast, high quality testing with our key innovation, the Electro-Mechanical-
Servo System (EMS). The EMS is a result of our continuous R&D and commitment to improve our
services. The mechanical components designed specifically for geomechanical test combined with
state of the art electronics and instrument to provide both Stress and Strain Control in a single unit.
This allows any type of basic test or simulation to be applied on specimens for advance test or
research. We are making advance soil testing simple.

The EMS load frames pictured on the left are
configured to perform 1D consolidation test. The
system can apply pressures up to 6400 kPa
without use of dead weight. The system also
overcomes the settlement limit especially for soft
soils using the front loading type of traditional
oedometers. The system can be monitored and
loading stages can be controlled remotely.

The EMS load frame on the right is configured to


perform Uniaxial Compression Test and
Unconsolidated Undrained test for soil specimen
completely automatic. The stress vs strain are
plotted on the touch screen and the test results
are automatically recorded. The confining
pressure is applied by an EMS system eliminating
the problems with traditional air compressor
based system.
