Topic: Drugs
Specific Purpose: Is to inform the audience about the different types of drugs, the history
and how certain drugs have a bad effect on people.
Introduction: How many people know someone that’s either addicted to drugs or was killed
by drugs and i’m not just talking about crack cocaine it can be tobacco, alcohol, marijiauna etc.
People use drugs everyday. Sometimes people can’t even be constructive without having
some type of drugs in their system. People who use drugs don’t get to be a crackhead. It can
be the least expected people, it could be your boss, a mentor, brother, sister, etc. Drugs rule
the world and it is controlled by the world and that’s why I'm here to explain to you the
history and different types of drug use and how it can badly affect us.
History:
Alcohol was made in China around 7000 to 6600 B.C. Nobody knows who started alcohol but it
started from fermentation. Fermentation involved in making beer, wine, and liquor in which
sugars are converted to ethanol alcohol.
Marijuana was made in Asia 28 million years ago and in Asia it wasn’t planted for people to get
high, it was just a herbal medicine to cure people. Marijuana came to America around the 1800s
but it was only provided by pharmacies and doctors to cure stomach problems and other
ailments. In the 1900s immigrants from Mexico to the United States during the war years of
Mexican revolution introduced the recreational practice of smoking marijuana to the American
culture then eventually became legal.
Tobacco use originated around 5000 B.C and Native Americans cultivating the plant and then
the Indigenous Americans started smoking it. An English colonist John Rolfe was the first to use
tobacco in 1609 and ever since then it hasn't been the same.
Effects/Addiction:
Alcohol can cause a lot of damage to your brain and liver. Liquor makes you dehydrated, it
makes your blood vessels in your body and brain expand and it affects the way your brain looks
and works. People get addicted to alcohol because of their parents, friends, and social media.
When you are addicted to alcohol you become more aggressive and have a lot of emotional
issues that will turn into depression then the more u drink it the worse your liver gets and the
worse your brain will get.
Marijuana and Tobacco can cause a lot of brain damage and a lot of lung damage smoking there
2 substances causes your lungs to turn black and make you lose a lot of blood cells and it keeps
you less productive with what’s going on in the world. Marijuana and Tobacco is addictive
because it makes your body feel good but when you use it too much it can get bad for your
body.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, drugs aren't the way of life. Just because the world gives you access to it
doesn't mean you have to abuse it. Alcohol can eat your insides and kill your brain, marijuana
and tobacco can make you feel good but eventually it will take control of you and the best
way to stop all this is to stop letting these drugs be allowed and stop letting these drugs be so
easy to buy.
