NOTIFICATION FOR DAKSHANA SELECTION TESTS 2019

Ref. No.: 01/2018 Dated: September 15, 2018

Selection of scholars for the Dakshana Two-year and One-year JEE/NEET Coaching Scholarship
Program will be done through the NDST (Navodaya Dakshana Selection Test) 2019 and JDST (Joint
Dakshana Selection Test) 2019, respectively.

NDST and JDST 2018 (for 2019 intake) are scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 09, 2018.

Selection procedure to appear for NDST 2019:


• This test is held exclusively for students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) only.
• Students currently (Academic Session 2018-19) in Class 10 in JNVs will be selected for NDST,
based on their performance at internal school examinations in the current year.
• List of shortlisted students to appear in the NDST will be available on www.dakshana.org on
September 30, 2018.
• Shortlisted students must fill the Online Application to register for the NDST before November
15, 2018.
• Dakshana will select scholars for the Two-year program, starting in June 2019 at 4 JNV COEs
across India, from the NDST 2019 only.

Selection procedure to appear for JDST 2019:


• This test is held for students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and state government schools.
Note: Government-aided schools and private schools, schools run by private local
organisations are not eligible for the scholarship.
• Students currently in Class 12 Science (Academic Session 2018-19) only can appear in the JDST.
• Dakshana will select scholars for the One-year program, starting in 2019 at Dakshana Valley,
Pune, from the JDST 2019 and JEE Mains/NEET 2019*.

For students in JNVs:


• Students currently in Class 12 (Science) in JNVs will be selected, for the JDST, based on their
performance at internal school examinations in the current year.
• List of shortlisted students to appear in the JDST will be available on www.dakshana.org from
September 30, 2018.
• Shortlisted students must fill the Online Application before November 15, 2018.
• Dakshana will select scholars for One-year program based on their merit at the JDST 2019/JEE
Mains 2019/NEET 2019 and Personal Interviews.

For students in State Government Schools:


• Eligibility:
➢ Class 10 result: > 70% aggregate.
➢ Total family annual income is less than INR 1,50,000/-.
• Eligible students must apply online at www.dakshana.org. Registrations will be open from
September 30, 2018

• Dakshana will verify the application based on eligibility criteria and will issue the Admit Card
to the shortlisted students.
• Dakshana will select scholars for the One-year program based on their merit at the JDST
2019/JEE Mains 2019/NEET 2019 and Personal Interviews.

NDST and JDST Format:


• Both the tests are of 3-hour duration and divided in four parts - Part 1: Mathematics/Biology;
Part 2: Logical Reasoning; Part 3: Physics and Part 4: Chemistry.
• The tests are in Multiple Choice Question format with 25 questions in each part.
• Answers are to be marked with HB pencil on OMR sheets. OMR sheets will be provided by
Dakshana Foundation.
• Each right answer is awarded 3 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
• The tests are based on the NCERT syllabus of Class 9, 10 for NDST & Class 11, 12 for JDST.
However, this test is significantly more difficult than the CBSE.
• No calculators are allowed.

*This year Dakshana may also select kids based on JEE Mains/NEET 2019 score. However, preference
will be given to scholars who qualify in JDST.
