Should we get vaccinated for COVID-19?
At the end of 2019, there was a major outbreak of virus (COVID-19) all around the world where
the virus infecting people from all ranges of age and caused the death of thousands even hundreds of
thousand of people. Responding to the major outbreak of the virus big pharmacies company race to
create a vaccine with the hopes that the vaccine will prevent or reduce the high rate of people dying
because of the virus (COVID-19). It is estimated that in Indonesia there is more than a hundred million
people have been vaccinated, but it raises a question whether we should be vaccinated or not. Some
people said that we should get vaccinated because it will protect us and the people around us. While
others believe that getting vaccinated can result to autism and many other health-related problems. Are
getting vaccinated necessary for our health? And what is the condition for us to not getting vaccinated?
Some people think that we should get vaccinated because COVID-19 vaccines have undergone
and will continue to undergo the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history so that the it is safe to
say that it is safe to get vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccines were developed using scientific methods that
have been around for decades so that it is guaranteed safe. Before recommending COVID-19 vaccination
for children, scientists conducted clinical trials to make sure that it is safe for us. COVID 19-vaccines are
effective and can reduce the risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19. After children
and adults are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, they can resume many activities that they did before the
pandemic. So because of the reason above reason, many people think that we should get vaccinated
There is other opinion where they believe that getting vaccinated will cause them more harm
than any good. Vaccine like AstraZeneca could give them a blood clot so they think the vaccine can
cause us more harm than any good. The AstraZeneca vaccine has been linked to an extremely rare
blood-clotting condition called thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome. And in some cases people
do not trust the vaccines because they were developed too quickly, they questioning about the quality
and the clinical benefit of the vaccines itself. There is some rare opinion where they believe that being
vaccinated will give their child autism and mental problem. And there is another opinion such as COVID-
19 is a mild disease and not dangerous so that a vaccine is not needed.
In conclusion, we should get vaccinated if we do not have special or rare medical situation
where getting vaccinated will cause us more harm than any good. Vaccine is needed for our immune
system to keep us from getting sick easily. In my opinion, getting vaccinated will bring us more benefits
than not getting vaccinated.
