In June 2016, he released Treat You Better as a single from his second album, Illuminate (September 23, 2016).
He
presented In My Blood, on March 22, 2018, as the first single from his third studio album, the second single Lost in
Japan appeared the next day.
His self-titled album was released on May 25, 2018 receiving positive reviews. He debuted at number one on the US
Billboard 200, making him the third youngest singer with three number one albums.
He presented a three-song remix EP on December 21, 2018 titled The Album (Remixes) featuring songs from his
self-titled album, such as Where Were You in the Morning?, Why and Youth.
During 2019, he released the single If I Can't Have You, along with the video, entering number 2 on the US Billboard
Hot 100.
On June 21, 2019, he released Señorita with Cuban-American singer-songwriter Camila Cabello, along with the
music video. On August 26, the song rose to the number one position, becoming Mendes' first topper on the US
Billboard Hot 100.
In late 2020, he released his fourth studio album, Wonder. The title track, also called Wonder, peaked at number 18
on the US Billboard Hot 100. The second single, Monster which, a collaboration with Justin Bieber, peaked at
number eight.
