Description
1 General
This Tool and Equipment Manual (TEM), Document No. 02306 is part of the Interactive Electronic Technical
Publication (IETP). For MSN 545, 1001–1719, 1721–1999, refer to Document No. 02307. For MSN 1720, 2001-UP,
refer to Document No. 02449. The IETP is published on a DVD or downloaded from the Pilatus website.
The TEM uses S1000D specification and is assembled as Data Modules (DM).
The TEM gives information on the tools and equipment needed to operate and maintain the PC12/47E aircraft in
service. Each piece of equipment is described and illustrated, where necessary, so that the user can understand its
purpose and use.
The tools listed in the TEM are the tools Pilatus recommends to complete the maintenance tasks on the aircraft.
Equivalent tools to those recommended by Pilatus may be used for all of those items not marked with an asterisk. If
equivalent tools are used, it is the responsibility of the maintainer to ensure that the maintenance tasks can be
accomplished according to the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and that the equivalent tools are
acceptable to the applicable regulatory authority.
The TEM does not give the special tools and equipment needed to overhaul vendor items. This information is given
in the vendor Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM).

Description
This Data Module gives a list of Pilatus Tool Numbers by Chapter. The maintenance procedures give the applicable
tools and the Tool Number. The first three digits of the Tool Number give the location of the equipment in Table 2.
The last three digits give the tool number. For example T07-005 is Tool 005 in Chapter 7.
The use of an asterisk (*) that precedes a tool number is defined in the introduction data module, refer to TEM 12-

Description
1 Application
Safety glasses are required when the Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) units are
inspected.
The safety glasses characteristics must:
− Protect against LED and IPL
− Protect for pulsed and continuous wave lasers
− Allow Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of only 5%
− Provide full protection against laser radiation (315 to 1000 nm)
− Provide alignment protection (allows the user to see the beam spot) against laser radiation (520 to 700 nm).
An example product that meets the above characteristics is the Skyline 620.P1005.00 from Laservision.
The relevant country standards for eye protection are:
− ANSI Z87.1 Standard (for USA)
− CSA Z94.3 Standard (for Canada)
− AS/NZS 1337.4 Standard (for Australia/New Zealand)
