Last Modified on 06/11/2019 1:53 am EDT

Step 1: Preperation
Proper configuration of the Corona unit requires the following software installed on the
user’s computer:

ZON MAX: https://zon.galooli-systems.com/zonmax

Power Center: https://tools.galooli-systems.com/powercenter/

RS485 Driver:

http://www.uotek.com/pro_view-122.html

Click the links to download the software and have them open prior to the physical
installation of the unit.

Step 2: RS485 Driver Installation

Connecting the unit to the computer via serial connection is done with RS485 to USB
converter. Before starting it is required to install the serial com port driver.
In most computers, the driver will be installed automatically once the converter is
connected to the computer. In some cases, it is required to install the driver manually.
This manual comes to explain how to integrate the RS485 converter to your computer.

RS485 Integration

1. Make sure you have an internet connection

2. Connect the RS485 to a USB converter and connect to your computer

3. Navigate to Control Panel --> Device Manager

4. Check if the converter driver is already installed. It should be listed as the next
available COM port. In case it exists, the converter is properly installed and you may
proceed with the Corona installation.
At all stages, you can check the Device Manager and confirm the driver is installed

5. In case the driver is listed under "Other devices" with a warning sign, this means the
computer did not recognize the device and the drivers should be installed manually.

6. To proceed with the driver installation, click on the followinglink

7. In the new page, scroll to the bottom and click "Download"

8. The relevant files will be downloaded and opened in .rar format. Your operating
system may ask you to confirm the download before it starts. When the files are
opened, extract them to a folder in your PC that you will know how to access to.

9. Go back to Device manager and right click on the FTR232R USB PORT under the
Other devices section in order to open the driver installation wizard.

10. Select "Locate and install driver software manually" to select the files previously
installed on your computer
11. Double click the entire file and install

12. Check the Device Manager and ensure the connector is added to the list of USB
ports (as displayed in step #4).

Step 3: SIM Card

Each unit should be fitted with a standard Sim card with the following dimensions:

Insert the SIM into the device until you hear a click
Step 4: Initial Installation
Install a din rail inside a dedicated DB or an existing cabinet.

Initial installation for configuration purposes requires a connection to a power source

(using the Red and Black wires) and a connection to a PC using the RS485 adapter as
displayed in the diagram below:
Note: make sure the earthing is well connected

Step 5: Configuration in Power Center

Once the unit is properly connected to the computer, configuration should be
conducted from the Power center. Refer to the following steps to properly configure
the unit.

1. Access Power Center and click Administrator Login to access your account. Since
the power center was made to enable the installation even if there is no internet
available, the credentials are only needed when logging to the system for the first time,
meaning, during the first login you must be connected to the internet.

2. In the new window, enter your access info as sent by your Account Manager. In
case you do not have the access info, please contact Galooli Support.
3. Connection can be set by selecting the proper COM connection at the bottom of the
screen

4. Users need to make 2 selections:

Active Device: Select ‘Power Device’

Connect Via: Select ‘Serial COM#’. Make sure the COM number points to the
correct USB port on the PC.

5. Once selected, if the unit’s firmware is not updated a window will popup offering to
upgrade the firmware, click yes and then download version.
6. Choose TR7Z-K2 Device

7. Click “Read All Parameters” to ensure the unit is active and connected properly.

8. Locate the Network Server and APN fields under Configuration -> Communication –
> Server and Network. Enter the relevant parameters.
Server URL should be provided by Galooli Support team. For APN, contact the
SIM card operator.

9. In the same tab, Configuration -> Communication make sure the reporting intervals
are set both to 60 seconds.

10. Click Write All Parameters

11. Switch back to status view, the following connections should appear in green
13. If all connections appear in Green, the unit is properly connected to Power Center.

Step 6: LED Validation

To validate the connection within the unit itself, remove the unit cover to display the
LED display. The LED display can effectively indicate the connectivity status of the
unit.

Status LED Indication

When GPS indication is red take the unit under open sky to get GPS reception. Led
indication will turn green. It might take few minutes.

You can check the GPS location by requesting location through Power Center

Network LED Indication

In case GSM network is not found, you can perform one of the following:

Check the GSM antenna and change its location

Irradiated Crosslinked Foam – Each Corona kit comes with a foam intended to
improve the GSM reception when sticking it to a metal plate. Refer here for
details on how to add the foam.
Replace the SIM card or select a different provider

Step 7: ZON Configuration

Once the unit is properly configured and validated, the unit should be added to the
ZON MAX front end system. Refer to the following steps to properly configure the unit
in ZON MAX
1. Open the ZON MAX using the username and password supplied by your Account
Manager. If you don’t have a username or password, please contact our support team.

should be set up in advance in order for it to be available for selection when adding a
new unit
6. Navigate to Configuration and select the relevant dashboard
(Telecom_Site/Generator)
Advanced configuration such as events, IOs etc are also configured through edit unit
window.

6. Once completed click Save. The unit with it’s new name should appear on screen
