To keep schools physically secure using unobligated Federal
funds available to the Secretary of Education to respond
to the coronavirus.

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-


2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

4 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protect Our Children’s


5 Schools Act’’.
6 SEC. 2. KEEPING SCHOOLS PHYSICALLY SECURE.

7 The unobligated balance of funds made available to


8 carry out section 18003 of division B of the CARES Act
9 (Public Law 116–136; 20 U.S.C. 3401 note), section 313
10 of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Ap-

1 propriations Act, 2021 (division M of Public Law 116–
2 260; 134 Stat. 1929), and section 2001 of the American
3 Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (Public Law 117–2; 20 U.S.C.
4 3401 note) shall be made available to local educational
5 agencies to keep the elementary schools and secondary
6 schools served by such agencies physically secure.
