Welcome to Sunrise – a bright new look at English!
Sunrise is a complete English course written especially for young learners.
Sunrise 1 is the first introductory level, designed to teach children the
preliminary sounds of English they will need for the rest of the course. It also teaches
basic key vocabulary and language which is recycled at later levels and introduces children to both
pre-reading and pre-writing in English, with left to right directionality.
Key features
• Sunrise 1 makes learning fun through enjoyable characters including Foxey the fox cub and his
friends Azad, Naza, Max and Rose.
• Sunrise 1 has a variety of activities including stories, songs and games. Children are actively
involved in learning.
• Sunrise 1 gives children extensive practice in listening and speaking. There are also pre-reading
and pre-writing activities to develop the skills children will need for reading and writing in
English later in the course.
• Sunrise 1 introduces children to the first sounds of the English alphabet and the letters themselves,
following a carefully researched phonics-based syllabus.
