The school head also provided schedules for classroom observations and deadlines for teachers to submit their means of verification. The teachers agreed to follow the schedules.

Narrative Report on the Review of PPST- RPMS

S.Y. 2021-2022
Teachers are important in improving the quality of the learning and teaching process. The
importance of good teachers in boosting student achievement cannot be overstated. As a result,
improving teacher quality is at the forefront of many educational reform efforts aimed at
improving education quality.
Pres. Jose P. Laurel National High School headed by the School Head; Reynaldo G.
Leonen conducted a review on the implementation of the Results- Based Performance
Management System- Philippines Professional Standards for Teachers for School Year 2021-
2022. He explained the provided guidelines on the performance management and appraisal of
teachers using the remaining 18 indicators in her RPMS. The sudden shift from face to face to
remote learning and now the gradual implementation of the limited face to face classes, the tools,
forms, and protocols stipulated to ensure that the measures of performance this school year are
appropriate, and relevant to capture teacher’s actual performance in the context of pandemic.

The implementation of the Results-Based Performance Management System- Philippines


Professional Standards for Teachers for School Year 2021-2022 was reviewed by Pres. Jose P.
Laurel National High School, led by School Head Reynaldo G. Leonen. He went over the offered
recommendations for managing and appraising instructors' performance using the remaining 18
indications in her RPMS. The abrupt shift from face-to-face to remote learning, and now the
gradual implementation of limited face-to-face classes, the tools, forms, and protocols stipulated
to ensure that the measures of performance this school year are appropriate, and relevant to
capture teachers' actual performance in the context of pandemic.

According to the Principal, there are 18 indicators from the Philippine Professional
Standards for Teachers (PPST) chosen as RPMS objectives for this school year. Performance
indicators of these objectives are identified for Quality. Objectives 7, 3, 4, 5, and 5 require means
of verification (MOV) from a classroom observation. While Objectives 7,8,9, and 10 have SET
A and SET B options that require MOV from either a classroom observation, provision of
supplemental material/s, or accomplishment of a Teacher Reflection Form (1RF) depending on
the context of the teacher.

For Highly Proficient Teacher, there are seven (7) classroom observable objectives. The
performance indicators of these objectives are identified for Quality. Objectives 1, 3, 4, 5, and 5
require MOV from a classroom observation. While Objectives 9 and 10 have SET A and SET B
options that require MOV from either a classroom observation or accomplishment of a Teacher
Reflection Form (TRF) depending on the context of the Teacher. Only two (2) observations are
required for both Proficient and Highly Proficient Teachers for the entire school year.
He explained that the COT 1 should be under the topic of first and second quarter and the
COT 2 should be third and fourth quarter. He also gave schedule to the teacher on updating their
means of verification.

The teachers together with the school head agreed that they will follow the given
schedule before or due time.
