Mistral-Air® warming system
The Mistral-Air® warming system includes the Mistral-Air® Plus warming
unit and Mistral-Air® warming blankets. The unit and the blankets are
designed to provide optimal results when used together.
The Mistral-Air® Plus warming unit is powerful, quiet and provides a constant temperature for
the patient within 60 seconds. The unit is programmed to automatically start when temperature
reaches 38 ˚C. This ensures therapy begins quickly and reduces the risk of human error. The unit
evenly distributes the warm air throughout the entire blanket.
Mistral-Air® warming blankets are soft, strong, easy-to-use and comfortable for the patient. The
blanket's contact surface is diffuse to ensure optimum performance and guarantees increased
heating capacity. The diffused surface also allows lower pressures to be used which prevents the
blanket from floating and allows it to drape perfectly around the patient.
The blankets are available in a wide range of types and sizes. There is a suitable blanket for
every procedure. Three types of blanket are available: Mistral-Air® Blankets (white blankets),
Reflective blankets (silver blankets) and the Koala. To further increase the warming properties
available from ordinary blankets, reflective blankets are produced with an extra reflective layer
that provides increased heating capacity and reflects the patient’s radiant body heat. The Koala
blanket is an under-patient blanket with a reflective layer and securing straps to allow the
patient to be 'enveloped' in warmth.
All blankets can be used for warming before, during and after surgery.
