450659/2021/LPG-PNG Date: 06.05.2021 addi SOP on release of | Croi nal LPG connections under Pi Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana{PMUY) was launched on 01.05.2016 to provide deposit free LPG connections to poor women. The target beneficiaries were initially selected from the SECCData (Socio- economic Caste Census of 2011) and the scope was later expandedto more categories to include deprived women in BPL households. In the earlier phase of PMUY, the target was to distribute 8 CroreLPG connections to women from BPL families and the target was achieved in September 2019, seven months ahead of the target date. The total connections released under the scheme has helped toincrease the All-India LPG coverage to 99.8% as on 1.5.21. Further to this, in the Union budget for FY 21-22, provision for release of additional ‘Lcrore LPG connection under PMUY scheme was announced by the Hon'ble Finance Minister of india. ‘An allocation of 1 crore additional PMUY connections aims to provide deposit-free LPG connections to those poor families who could not be covered under earlier phase of PMUY. 41. Preference to SC/ST: While releasing PMUY connections, preference will be given to SC/ST Poor families and families residing in areas with lower LPG penetration than the National/state average. 4, Facilityfor Migrant Families: Individuals or families moving out of their native places to towns/ cities by virtue of marriage, employment, education etc will be considered as migrants/ migrant families. If their family members, residing at the native place, is already having an LPG connection in their household, then too the migrant familycan apply for an LPG connection in the place where they have migrated to.In case, the migrant family has an adult female, she will be eligible to apply for aPMUY connection, 5. Proposed Modalities for releasing additional 1 Crore connection under PMUY submitted by OMCs: ‘The modalities for issuing LPG connections to women in Poor households under PMUY is given below: i. Simplified KYC form to be filled by the applicant beneficiaries to indicate the eligibility as per ‘the 10categories mentioned above. In case of migrant families, self-declaration of the migrant status, the family composition and. the address proof (as POA) will be given by the applicantin Annexure |. Ration Card/ Government document declaring family composition/ Self Declaration (in ‘case of migrants only) and fe. Aadhaar details of all the family members as mentione: Govt. document/ Self Declaration. Applicants under the scheme from Assam and Meghalaya will have to submit Ration Card (issued by the state) or any equivalent document issued by the State Government. Mobile numbers to be preferably collected from the applicant to ensure all transactional messages goes to the registered number only. In case, the applicant is not holding any bank account in her name, then OMCs to coordinate and facilitate for opening of JanDhan/ Postal bank Accounts. In case, the applicant or her adult family member is not having Aadhaar Card, then OMCs to coordinate with Aadhaar enrolments centres and facilitate for the same. Application process will be through online application/ through CSC/ Helpdesk/ direct submission to the distributor or any other mode as decided by OMCs from time to time.
