                                                Thumbelina
Once upon a time, there lived a woman in a faraway village. She was very lonely
after her husband had died. She wanted to have a child but she didn't have any. One day,
she went to a good witch. The witch gave a grain of barley and told her to plant it. The
woman did as she was told.
The next morning, a beautiful plant had grown from the seed. It had a beautiful
flower. The woman was mesmerized by its beauty. Then she kissed one of its petals.
Suddenly the flower blossomed open. There was a beautiful little girl inside it. The size
was not bigger than the woman's thumb. However, the woman loved her and called her
Thumbelina. The woman did not feel lonely.
One night, when Thumbelina was sleeping, an old frog came to the window and
saw her. He wanted Thumbelina to be his son's wife, so he grabbed Thumbelina and took
her away. The son was very happy. Then the frog put Thumbelina on a water lily leaf in
the middle of the pond so that she couldn't escape. Thumbelina tried to escape but she
couldn't. Two minnows heard her cry. Then they decided to help her. They nibbled away
the lily stem. Soon, it broke and floated away with Thumbelina.
Just when Thumbelina thought was free, a beetle came and took her away to his
home. However, no longer after that, he dropped her in the long grass and flowers.
Thumbelina was very happy. However, she did not know how to go home. She then spent
       many days there.
One day, when Thumbelina was walking, she stumbled upon a small house made
of mud. It had a strange round entrance. She knocked on the door and a mouse opened it.
The mouse allowed her to enter because it was cold outside. Thumbelina then told the
mouse her entire story. As a result, the mouse allowed her to stay as long as she liked.
fter few days, the mouse invited his friend to his house. The mouse's friend fell in
love with her and declared that he would marry her. Thumbelina had no choice. The
mouse's friend offered to show her his home. On the way, they entered a tunnel, they
found an injured swallow lying on the ground. The mouse's friend kicked it. Thumbelina
was shocked to see his behavior. Unseen by the mice, she ran away from there.
Once the condition was safe, Thumbelina came back and took a great care of the
swallow til she was fit to fly again. As gratitude, the swallow asked her to join her family,
but Thumbelina didn't want to go anywhere else. So, the swallow flew away.
Few months later, the mouse found Thumbelina. She knew there was no way out
of it for her. So, she asked him if she could spend one last day out in the open air. When
she roamed in the open field for one last time, the swallow came, and Thumbelina
hopped on the back of the swallow and they took off.
When they reached a land of flowers called the kingdom of flowers, the swallow
landed Thumbelina on a beautiful petal. The presence of Thumbelina attracted the king's
attention. He fell in love with her and immediately proposed her. As happiness spread
across her face, Thumbelina grew a beautiful pair of wings and became the flower queen.
Soon, they got married and lived happily ever after.
