Different perennial community health problems happen to the different region of the country.
1. Human Excreta and Sewage 5. Food Sanitation

Solid Waste Management Program – (RA No.9003) “Solid Waste Management”, one of the
programs created by the government who are in-charge of planning and implementing rules and
regulations to address the community health problems. It helps lessen the amount of refuse in our
country. A highly recommended formula to adopt the 3Rs of Ecological Waste Management:
REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
Different Kinds of Refuse:
1. Garbage – refers to leftover foods, animal, fish from the kitchen and establishment
2. Rubbish – waste materials like bottles, broken glass, tin cans, waste papers, porcelain
wares, piece of metal and other wrapping materials.
3. Street refuse – like dirt, leaves, and other waste on the streets
4. Dead Animals – like dogs, cats, any other animals
5. Abandoned Vehicles – Unwanted cars and trucks left on public property
6. Industrial waste – waste from factories and power plants like metal scraps
7. Ashes – residue from fires and from on-site incineration
8. Demolition Waste – scrap lumber, pipes and other construction materials
9. Special Waste – hazardous solids and liquids, radioactive materials, batteries
10 Sewage treatment residue – septic tank sludge
Waste disposal – proper disposal of a discarded or discharges material in accordance with local
environmental guidelines or laws.
Solid waste management refers to the discipline associated with the:
• control of generation
• processing
• transfer and transport
• storage collection
• disposal of solid waste
