1 Modifications and extensions of the

system
For reasons of product safety, this product may be operated only with
original Dentsply Sirona parts or third-party parts expressly approved by
Dentsply Sirona. In the event of changes which were not foreseen,
Dentsply Sirona is not liable for resulting damages.
All units connected to this product must comply with the applicable
standards:
● IEC 60601-1, Medical electrical equipment
● IEC 60950-1, Information technology equipment
● IEC 62368-1, Audio/video, information and communication
technology equipment

2 Configuration levels
PC connection The PC can be connected to the treatment center as follows:
● External PC
The treatment center is connected to an external PC via an Ethernet
cable.
● Internal PC for Teneo and Sinius (standalone solution)
The treatment center is operated as a standalone unit without an
external PC. A mini PC is integrated in the base of the chair instead.
Monitor(s) The number of monitors can be selected for the external PC:
● Treatment center monitor, no PC monitor:
When setting up this operating mode, please observe that the PC
controls, i.e. keyboard and mouse, will not be located near the
monitor and that the PC can be used exclusively for patient
communication.
● Treatment center monitor and PC monitor (using multi-monitor
graphic card):
This solution makes it possible to use the PC also for other
applications in the treatment room and ensures high operating
comfort.
Two display options can be set up and modified by the user:
– The same image is displayed on both monitors.
– The two monitors are controlled individually. Different programs
can be displayed on the monitors at the same time, e.g. an
accounting program on the PC monitor and Sidexis on the
treatment center monitor. In this operating mode, all the required
tasks in the treatment room can be handled by one PC, without
the patient being able to view the PC applications that are not
intended for her/him.
The system is designed for using a monitor on the treatment center
when an internal PC is used.
Video application In connection with a camera, a video application is required to process
the video images.
We recommend using Sidexis/Videxis, Sidexis XG or Sidexis 4 for the
acquisition, analysis and processing of camera images and archiving
them in a patient database. Si Video can also be used alternatively as a
video application, e.g. for an internal PC. Video applications of other
manufacturers can also be used if they support the Dentsply Sirona
Siucom Plus and/or Sivision Connect interface.

PC control, Sirona Siucom Plus interface PC applications such as Sidexis/Videxis, Microsoft PowerPoint ,
Windows MediaPlayer and Si Video can be started or stopped and their
most important functions can be controlled from the touchscreen of the
treatment center.
PC applications from other manufacturers can also be controlled from
the treatment center if they support the Dentsply Sirona Siucom Plus
interface.

3 System requirements
The system requirements refer to the external and internal PCs.
Operation with two monitors is not intended for the internal PC.

IMPORTANT
Please also note the system requirements of your patient
management system and the video applications used, e.g. SIDEXIS,
since higher requirements may also be necessary here.

Computer type: IBM compatible PC

Operating system: ● Windows 7 (Service Pack 1)

(when using a dedicated graphics card with at least 1 GB RAM, 4
GB would be sufficient)

Dentsply Sirona cannot give a general guarantee for correct functioning
of the PC system, even if these system requirements are complied with.

4 Installation instructions for PC hardware

Administrator rights required You will need administrator rights to install the drivers and application
software.
BIOS settings of the internal PC Make the following BIOS settings when using an internal PC:
● Computer automatically boots up as soon as voltage is applied
● Computer boots even when no keyboard is connected
● Deactivate WLAN adapter
PC energy-saving settings Deactivate the USB connection shutdown in the operating system.
Monitor settings We recommend a color depth of 32 bits and a refresh frequency of 60
Hz for the treatment center monitor.
Select the maximum resolution of 1920x1080 pixels for a 22" monitor
and 1280x1024 pixels for the 19" monitor.
Network The Teneo and Sinius treatment centers have an Ethernet port in the
base of the chair. In the case of the Intego treatment center, this is an
equipment option. The treatment center is connected directly to the PC
or the practice network via this Ethernet port. 10 MBit and 100 MBit
networks are supported.
DHCP So that the Sivision package is functioning correctly, the IP address
must be entered on the treatment center. This may not be different upon
the next start-up of the treatment center. A static IP address of the
treatment center is a prerequisite.
If DHCP is configured on the treatment center, there must be a server
that always assigns the same IP addresses.

5 Cables
Connecting the USB 2.0 cable Connection to the PC is made using an available USB 2.0 port.
Connecting the LAN cable If no integration in an office network is planned, then the LAN cable is
connected from the treatment center directly to the Sivision PC.
If the Sivision PC is to be integrated in the office network, then the LAN
connections of the treatment center and the Sivision PC are connected
directly to the office network router.
Connecting the monitor cable If there is a separate PC monitor, it must be connected to output 1 of
the graphics card as the primary monitor. The treatment center monitor
is connected to the PC using output 2 of the graphics card in this case.
If there is no PC monitor, the treatment center monitor must be
connected to output 1 of the graphics card.
Connecting the ground wire The connection to the PC must be made at an electrically conductive
area of the PC housing using a contact washer.
On the treatment center, the cable must be connected to the labeled
grounding point.
Connecting the loudspeaker cable (only On the PC, the loudspeaker cable is connected to the (green) audio
when using a DVI/HDMI adapter) output jack. For more information, see the "Teneo Installation
Instructions", REF 61 93 689, the "Sinius Installation Instructions", REF
6322627 or "Intego Installation Instructions", REF 64 57 134.

IMPORTANT
Malfunctions caused by unapproved cables from third-party suppliers
If unapproved cable sets are used, no guarantee can be made for
their full function, image quality and conformity with the medical
device law regulations.

6 Installing the application software

Driver installation Install the drivers of the SIROCAM digital intraoral camera according to
the Installation instructions "Installation of the SIROCAM digital drivers",
REF 62 58 888.
No drivers are required for intraoral cameras SiroCam F, SiroCam AF
and SiroCam AF+.
Installing SIDEXIS/VIDEXIS See information in SIDEXIS, "Digital Radiography, Installation of Stand-
Alone Systems", REF 58 72 952 or 59 67 356 for SIDEXIS XG.
It is necessary to specify during setup that a video recording device is
connected to the S Video input ("SIROCAM available", "PAL") and
activate the setting "Standard Video-for-Windows Card".
Installing SIDEXIS 4 Refer to "Sidexis 4 Installation Instructions", REF 64 47 200
Other video applications: If you would like to use a video application other than SIDEXIS/
VIDEXIS, you need software that works with the camera's WDM drivers
and SIUCOM plus or SIVISION connect.

7 Known limitations
Sidexis magnifier function For Sidexis/Videxis version < 5.5
The Sidexis magnifier function does not function on the secondary
monitor.
Remedy:
Connect the monitor of the treatment center to the graphics card as the
primary monitor.
Missing icons on buttons Buttons sporadically cannot be displayed on the secondary monitor
(e.g. tooth buttons).
Remedy:
Open the Control Panel and go to
● Display
● Settings
● Colors
and reduce the color depth of the primary monitor from 32 bits to 24
bits.
Power options / screen savers Using power saving options or screen savers on the PC may lead to
malfunctions if actions are triggered from the treatment center while the
sleep options are active.
Remedy:
Deactivate the corresponding power options or the screensaver on the
PC.
Window switching under Windows In Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems, system settings have been
starting with Windows 7 changed. As a result, windows are no longer automatically placed in the
foreground in all cases. This can also prevent intentional window
activation from the treatment center. Previously activated, hidden
windows are then not placed in the foreground.
Remedy:
A value in the Windows registry has to be changed.

CAUTION
Serious data loss if the registry editor is used incorrectly
Be especially careful when working with the registry editor. Missing or
incorrect values in the registry can result in your Windows installation
no longer functioning properly. Incorrect use of the registry editor can
cause serious problems that affect the entire system and require new
installation of your operating system.

Open the registry editor (Start, Run, "regedit", OK).

Change the value of the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel
\Desktop\ForegroundLockTimeout" to 0. This change has to be
performed for each user that uses the Siucom functions. The change
will be activated the next time this user logs in.
