DATE : October 7-9, 2019

I. RATIONALE:

Department of Education-Division of Sarangani will be conducting its annual Division Schools Press
Conference (DSPC); This year the conduct of 2019 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) with a
theme, “Empowering Communities Through Campus Journalism”, is on October 7-9, 2019, at the
following venues:

 Colon National High School


 San Felipe Central Elementary SPED Center
 Maasim Municipal Gymnasium

The Conference aims to:

1. Demonstrate understanding of the importance of journalism by expressing it through different


journalistic endeavors and approaches;
2. Sustain advocacy on social conciousness and environmental;
3. Provide a venue for an enriching learning experience for students interested in Journalism as a
career or those who intend to use skill set learned through campus journalism to give them a
better edge in their chosen carrers;
4. Promote responsible journalism and fair and ethical use of social media; and
5. Enhance journalistic competencies through healthy and friendly competitions.

II. EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS:

Teachers - 9
Students - 11
TOTAL - 20
