Module 1 Exercise
Everyone has a specific plan for life goals, either short-term or long-term plans. I would
like to become a beauty expert next year with five words: Happiness, Success, Independence,
Expert, and Improvement. For the future plan, I will come back home country to build a career,
but not settle down there, I dream of reaching globally.
My happiness is defined by being close and connected with my family. I am an
international student and my family is in Viet Nam and I spent 3 years for living apart from my
family during the pandemic covid-19. Thanks to the internet, my family and I keep in contact
via social media and wifi calling. However, I have felt unconnected with my family for 3 years
because of different living conditions. We rarely have a deep conversation and communication to
understand and share expectations. Understanding is the crucial processing step of
communication (“Business Communication for Success”, 2015). Understanding the words
properly helps people to perceive and interpret the meaning. I hope that I could improve my
communication with parents to understand them deeply and I could share my goal life and
expectation to reconnect with my family.
Success is a path that everyone aspires to achieve. Everyone has their own secret to guide
the path to success. The definition of success may varies for each person. Some people want to
be rich, some want happiness. In my opinion, success is when I have known who I want to be
and what is my goal life. People work insanely to follow their dreams, everyone should try to
develop their innate abilities to succeed. For each of us, success is coming from the own efforts
and hard working. In my short time target next year, I would like to finish BASBOL degree at
Valencia College. Then, I would try to earn a certificate of brows beauty academy in order to
open my own studio in Viet Nam and become a grand master in this career.

Independence is one of my goals next year. Independence in finance is one of my targets.
I would like to earn and save money for my career; therefore, I should have a detailed financial
plan every month to have enough budget for startups after graduation. Also, in my opinion,
independence is independent thinking which means not stereotyped but the ability to self-study,
self-discover, learn and summarize as an experience. The ability to think independently helps to
understand complex issues to make decisions. Independence brings me to become a better
version of the mind concept. As a result, it makes me stronger in every decision in life.
Expert: My goal next year is getting the BASBOL degree at Valencia and taking the
brows academy certificate to start my passion, being an expert of brows beauty tattoo. My dream
is opening a studio for myself first, then upgrading myself to be an expert mentor/ grandmaster. I
used to doubt about myself and career path because of procrastination. I wondered what I would
do with my major and academic degree after graduation; thus, I was stressed. Thanks to
communicating with psychiatrist, I gradually realize my own value. Sharing is the key process to
understanding (“Business Communication for Success”, 2015). Sharing difficulties and struggles
helps me get an overview image and figure out what I want for life.
Improvement: I would not settle down in my hometown, but I would like to reach out
globally. Being a master in career in my home country will be the first step; however, I want to
improve myself globally by expanding my career to other countries. As long as a grandmaster, I
could have great opportunities to cooperate with other companies and international teamwork to
broaden my career to the EU and UK. So many of my friends reach out globally by being beauty
academy experts and are successful with the BASBOL bachelor's degree. I want to improve and
prepare myself for daily soft skills such as communication and management skills. These are
considered the two significant soft skills to succeed in Business Administration.

In conclusion, it is important to take a serious and specific plan to a future career next
year. The five words are Happiness, Success, Independence, Expert, and Improvement. With five
words about who I want to become and articulate what and where I want in next year. I hope I
could make it come true by all my efforts and hard work.
