M U N A R I M O B I LE
The black-and-white (Munari) mobile is usually the first mobile we present to our baby. This mobile
can hold the attention of a baby as young as a few days old for a long time. We can hang the Munari
in the baby’s movement area from birth; they can start to enjoy it as soon as we feel they are ready.
MATERIALS
• One glass ball, preferably 2.5 inches • Three dowels, 5 to 7 mm in diameter
(7 cm) in diameter. A clear glass Christmas (ideally black or white, but plain wood is
tree ornament works well, as it is light and okay), cut to the following lengths:

• Pen or a pointed instrument
• Scissors
• Silk thread
CONSTRUCTION
1. Print out the paper templates. Cut out each template.
2. Attach the two pieces in each shape so they are mirrored on each side. You can glue or tape
them together. If you want avoid the paper curling, you can add a layer of card stock.
3. Pierce each hole with a needle or scissor.
4. Start from the bottom when assembling, in this order: First the rectangle / Then the square /
Then the circle / Then the glass sphere.
