Create Your First Database
• Let’s start! Go to http://www.odoo.com/

• On the home page, click on “Try it Free” or “Start Now: It’s Free”.

Create Your First Database con.
• You'll get to the webpage with all the Odoo apps available on Odoo Online. Click on the first
application you need. If you need more than one app, you'll have the possibility to install more
afterwards, when the database is activated.
• Let’s start with Odoo CRM for our example.

Create the Main Odoo Account
• Fill in your name, email address.
• To be part of the Education program you have to start your database name with the prefix
"edu-" (example: "edu-studentID")
• Company size and Primary Interest

Sign in to Odoo
• In your inbox (check the spam folder too) you have received an email asking you to “activate
your database”. To keep your database, activate it by creating a password

Setup Company
• Home Screen > Settings > Companies > Manage Companies
• Make sure to change the Currency to LKR

• Home Screen > Apps > Install

User Levels in Odoo
There are three types of users in odoo.

• Internal : Internal users are the system users. E.g. Any company could have some
departments like, Sales department, Purchase department, HR Department etc.
So, for each department’s user they can give login access to do their job.

• Portal users : The user who is associated with customer record in system, Which
is authorized to have read access of own transactions in the system.

• Public : The user which does not has the login access but can read the info
published on website, is public user.
