This equalization board is suitable for lithium battery packs without equalizing charge. The charge
equalization makes each battery pack in the battery pack fully charged at the same time.
This equalization board has no charge and discharge protection function and cannot replace the protection

Electric bikes (or ebikes) will display error

codes to warn bikers that something about the system has gone wrong. An Electric Bike error code
for Bosch, Giant, Yamaha, MAHLE ebikemotion, Panasonic or Shimano Steps motors can occur
when least expected. For instance, when the sensor fails to calibrate appropriately, when the
software encounters a glitch, or when the connection is interrupted.

REMEMBER: If there is any error, the e-bike will be flashing. Please connect your smartphone and
open your eBike APP to get a detailed description about the error. The following are general tips
and tricks on how to troubleshoot common error codes on your electric bike for your Bosch, Giant,
Yamaha, MAHLE ebikemotion, Panasonic or Shimano Steps motor.

Various error codes may affect your bike’s electrical system. These may be expressed differently
depending on the brand of bike you’re riding. However, the errors will have more or less the same

Why my electric bike battery is not working?

Your battery for your electric bike could be providing insufficient or incorrect voltage for your bike
because the battery hasn’t been charged or there has been a blown fuse as electronic bike battery
could be too high causing it to cut-off. If you have a voltmeter, you can check the voltage of an
electric bike and ensuring you are using 48 or 52 volt kit. Please make sure you should also check
the battery charger in case there are any faults.

Low-voltage Cut-off Protection

In this case, your bike’s battery pack is providing insufficient voltage. To correct it, recharge the
battery pack. Remember to confirm that you’re using a 52V or 48V battery with your kit.

High-voltage Cut-off Protection

This will happen when your battery pack is producing too much of a voltage. In this case, you can
only use a 52V or 48V battery. Remove the battery and reinsert it before starting the system again.
This should remove your electric bike error code.

How do I reset my e bike battery?

To reset the electronic bike battery, please follow the steps below:

1. Remove the battery from the battery mount.

2. Press and hold the On/Off button on the battery for 10 seconds.
3. Re-install the battery and turn on the bike.

Electric Bike Error Codes and Solutions

Throttle Error

If the throttle on your electric fat tire electric bike

is not working, try unplugging and replugging it, making sure that the arrows and pins are in line for
a proper connection. Check the throttle pins to ensure they are not bent. If this does not work,
unplug and replug all connections on the kit Main Wiring Harness (throttle, display, brake levers),
including the connection leading to the motor lead.

Ensure that no pins are damaged and line up the pins and arrows when reconnecting for a proper
connection. The last option if this does not work is to unplug the throttle from your kit. If you’re
still encountering the error, you probably need a new throttle.

Speed or Torque Sensor Error

Occasionally, the speed or torque sensors get errors as they have been overused. These are one of
the most common electric bike error codes.

If it’s the speed sensor, check to see whether the Speed Sensor and magnet have been installed
correctly. Ensure that the magnet is installed within 1 or 2mm of the speed sensor and the magnet’s
smooth side should be facing the speed sensor. Also, be sure to fully screw the speed sensor into the
motor lead plug. If this doesn’t work, it’s possible your speed sensor is broke and you need another
one.

Electric Bike Hall Sensor Error

Start by unplugging and replugging all the connections on your kit, which should include all Main
Wiring Harness connections like the throttle, display, and brake levers, as well as the Motor lead
connections with the Speed Sensor and Battery. Check the pins to confirm they are not bent on any
connection plug and that they are in line with the arrows.

If you don’t succeed in rectifying the issue, the Hall Sensor connection from the controller to the
motor core may be loose or is experiencing silicone interference blocking the connection. To fix
this, try to loosen the controller to unplug and replug the Hall Sensor plug.

You’ll need to assess all the pins on the plug to ensure they are straight and get rid of any silicone
interference on the connection area. From here, proceed to properly replug your white hall plug
back into your bike’s motor core.

Error 08 Hall sensor; Sometimes error 8 shows if if the motor has been unplugged or if the pins are
bent. Look over the motor plug to make see it is connected properly, unplug and replug and check
that the plug pins are straight.

Temperature Error (Max Temp Protection Cut-off)

This error occurs when the electric bike is outside the agreeable temperature range (usually higher
than 80 degrees Celsius or lower than -10 degrees Celsius). Turn off the e-bike system and let the
drive unit heat up or cool down to the permissible temperature. Try restarting the system!

If you have a MAHLE, Panasonic or Shimano E7000, E6100 or E5000 STEPS motor, you can

Controller Error

If you get a controller error, you are likely in need of a new controller. However, you can try to
unplug and replug all the connections and checking that there are no bent pins. Ensure everything is
properly connected. There is a remote likelihood the issue could be that one of the plugs from the
controller isn’t appropriately connected to the motor. Try opening the controller to see if this is the
case.

Occasionally, the controller can also overheat. When you get this error, the implication might be
that the temperature of the sensor inside the controller has likely been triggered. Allow it to cool a
bit and see what happens. 

Configuration Error

This happens when there is a wrong software installation for the Line series (Performance Line) or
the type of bike (Speed/Cruise, Gearbox in the hub, Derailleur). Try upgrading and updating the
software to rectify the product line. From here, restart the system.

Communication Error

This may be the result of a simple connection issue. Unplug and replug every connection on the kit
and this should include all the Main Wiring Harness connections, as well as all the motor lead
connections with speed sensor and battery. Ensure that the pins are not bent and that they are in line
with the arrows for a proper connection.

If this does not solve the situation, confirm that the wiring on your setup is not being pinched, more
so the cables from the controller. Also, ensure that the wires are not too taught. Open the controller
and unplug all the plugs; replug them and ensure you have no silicone interference.

 
Intermittent Power Cut-off

This will typically occur when there’s a connection issue in the battery and mount. It can lead to
intermittent as opposed to constant power between the motor and battery. For the battery to power
the motor adequately, it needs a solid connection with the mount connecting the battery leads to the
motor. Such an issue may result from wear and tear. To fix this, follow the above guide: 

Turn the system off and remove the battery. From here, turn on the motor with the power button.
Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the two outer prong connectors on the battery mount inwards while
making sure that your battery has a solid connection with the battery mount. 

Conclusion

Elektrisch fietsen

Foutmeldingen Sparta ION, deze foutmeldingen komen voor als deze elektrische fiets een storing
heeft in het ION systeem.

Deze foutmeldingen worden getoond op het display en beginnen met een hoofdletter “E” gevolgd
door een cijfercombinatie. Soms staan er foutmeldingen op het display die niet beschreven staan in
de handleiding van de fiets, hieronder staan de foutmeldingen die ik heb kunnen vinden met de
oplossing erachter.

Zelf heb ik ruim 5 jaar woon/werk gefietst met een Sparta ION GLS Plus, deze fiets had de accu in
het frame en de motor in het achterwiel. Doordat de accu in het frame zat had ik eigenlijk nooit
problemen met foutmeldingen en heb met deze fiets ruim 25.000km afgelegd.

Wat ik wel regelmatig deed, was het inspuiten met contactspray van de displaycontacten achterop
het display en de displayhouder. Heb ooit een keer een storing gehad dat er maar 3 van de 5 standen
waren, heb toen de zekering eruit en erin gedaan en met de lader het ION-systeem weer aangezet.

Wij hebben sinds 3 jaar een Sparta R10Ti waarop ik nu nog maar 3000 km heb gefietst. Zat
nog 59% in batterij. Batterij opgeladen 100%, teruggeplaatst waarna we E03 in de display
kregen.
Dealer accu defect is de uitleg hierbij.
In een eerder lezen we zekering eruit en opnieuw dr in, maar waar zit de zekering? Ook
lazen we ergens dat het soms de printplaat is. Kan toch niet zo zijn dat je een accu vervangt
terwijl het aan de printplaat ligt? In mijn man z’n werk is hij elke dag bezig met printplaten.
Maar hoe doe je het dan met de software?
Ben benieuwd of iemand ervaring heeft hiermee.

de e-03 aan werd gezegd nieuwe software update werd ik gebeld met dat de accu
defect is accu rapport laten maken blijkt dat de accu nog een vullingsraad 66% en de
conditie van de batterij cellen 76% hoe kan die dan toch kapot zijn de kabelboom
was ook nog goed

Onderaan het frame, onderkant accu zit een zwart kapje.

Deze losschroeven en daar zit de zekering.

Ik heb ook E03 melding gehad en deze kwam na een aantal keer E18. E18 komt niet
op het schermpje maar tijdens fietsen viel de trapondersteuning uit. De dealer heeft
de fiets uitgelezen en op het rapport stond E18 op momenten dat de
trapondersteuning uitgevallen was. Na opladen had ik daarna weer gewoon
trapondersteuning tot E03 verscheen. volgens Sparta dealer is de accu dan defect
Inmiddels heb ik de accu laten reviseren en werkt alles weer zoals het hoort. Bij
 verschillende accurevisiebedrijven wordt aangegeven dat het onmogelijk zou zijn de
banaanaccu te reviseren en daarbij wordt je richting een originele vervangaccu
gestuurd. Dit is niet nodig want de banaanaccu is gewoon te reviseren en
accurevisiebedrijven die dit met garantie aanbieden doen dat als volgt:

De werkwijze om het Sparta/Batavus/Koga ION accupack te reviseren is:

1. Dmv een speciaal ontwikkeld tool wordt de behuizing snel en eenvoudig geopend
2. De BMS wordt tijdens het verwisselen van alle accucellen onder spanning
gehouden om te voorkomen dat de BMS blokkeert
3. Evt E03 melding wordt automatisch opgeheven nadat het accupakket weer
volledig in balans is, mits er geen andere problemen met de BMS zijn.
4. De behuizing wordt dmv een grote krimpkous weer gesloten.
5. Evt aanmelden van het gereviseerde accupakket gaat via een bevriende
welwillende Sparta/Batavus/Koga dealer

Bij hevig regenweer valt elke ondersteuning uit. Treedt pas terug in werking als de fiets
gedurende 1 of 2 dagen in een warme ruimte staat zonder batterij. Zeer vervelend. Wat kan
ik daaraan doen?

Hey dat problem heb ik ook. Als ik de fiets ga opladen en de accu is nog boven de
50% dan geeft hij de melding. Als ik dan een stuk ga fietsen en zorg hij onder de
50% komt lijkt het wel goed te gaan en laadt hij hem tot 100% weer op

Ik heb in 2013 een Sparta ion dts gekocht, in 2016 stopte de accu ermee em moest een
nieuwe kopen voor 350 euro. Inmiddels moet er nu de 5e accu in de fiets en dat gaat
waarschijnlijk weer een hoop geld kosten. Voor een fiets van 7 jaar oud en toe aan een 5e
accu is dat een aardig gemiddelde. Als je een e-mail stuurt naar Sparta, krijg je niet eens een
reactie terug.

Ik heb code E0008 op mijn 2e hands e-bike van Sparta. moet ik echt een nieuwe motor
aanschaffen? Dat is toch heel duur? Wat zou het nog meer kunnen zijn? De fiets doet niks
meer helaas.

update gedaan en klaar, alles werkt weer.

 Hoop dat jullie mij kunnen helpen. Ik heb een E ion vorig jaar 2e hands gekocht bij een
dealer met frame accu en 2e accu onder bagagedrager. Deze geeft nu continu problemen.
Vaak E 005 melding. Heb al een nieuwe kabel geplaatst, leek even goed te gaan, bleek
daarna dat het slotje los zat. Vast gezet, leek opgelost. Week zonder problemen gefietst. Nu
wederom 0005 melding. Daarbij laadt mijn accu niet meer op. Krijg alleen bij aansluiten
knipperende lampjes te zien. Het betreft overigens een speed versie van de Sparta Ion.

Dat betekent dat je de accu op moet laden.

Is de accu opgeladen en blijft de code verschijnen dan is de accu defect en moet je
een nieuwe aanschaffen bij de fietsenmaker
