1.)BASKETBALL
DEFINITION AND IMPORTANCE

Basketball is a game played between two teams of five players each

on a rectangular court, usually indoors. Each team tries to score by
tossing the ball through the opponent's goal, an elevated horizontal
hoop and net called a basket. Playing basketball helps to improve
motor coordination, flexibility, and endurance. It also encourages
speed, agility, and strength. These skills are shown to have a positive
effect on promoting a healthy body weight and encouraging more
physical activity, which can enhance cardiorespiratory fitness and
self-esteem.

DEFINITION

leather-covered ball toward a batter on
the opposing team.
HISTORY
The history of baseball in the United

boys and amateur enthusiasts played a
baseball-like game by their own informal
rules using homemade equipment. The
popularity of the sport grew and amateur
men's ball clubs were formed in the 1830–
