dance, but a collection of many dances. Each style of folk dance can date
back several generations (or centuries) with ties to the Old World. Folk
dances it keeps a culture of people alive, by sharing and teaching younger
generations the dances. Dance keeps the history of people alive as well.
Dances are ways a community celebrates a special event or important date
in time. They are a place to socialize with family and friends, meet your
neighbors, making new friends.
Knowing the history of every tradition of the foreign countries are also
interesting. Especially Asian countries that is very close to out country.
Learning their tradition makes me understand their culture where I see from
movies. I also want to learn more about their culture so that when I visited
their country I also want to try their cultures and the traditions. This will
make me easier to vibe with them and makes my journey more interesting.

steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows, all
facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at
the same time. Unlike circle dancing, line dancers are not in physical
contact with each other. Country line dancing shows no signs of decreasing
in popularity, along with other popular dances such as swing dance and
Latin dance. Easy to learn and fun to perform with groups, country line
dancing is easier to learn than both swing and Latin dance, which makes
many more people approach it for fun. Whether you are a beginning dancer
or you know some of the dance steps outlined above from jazz or tap
classes, once you get started on the individual steps you'll be line dancing in
no time. There are 5 main dance actions of dance such as jump, turn,
travel, gesture and stillness. People dance for all kinds of reasons - to
mourn, to celebrate, to heal, to give thanks, to preserve cultural heritage
and treasured legends, to demonstrate physical prowess, to assert
individuality, to provoke and to entertain. Almost anyone can dance,
regardless of age or ability. Dancing provides a great, overall low-impact
aerobic workout. Like other forms of aerobic exercise, dance strengthens the
heart, lungs and circulatory system. But the varied movements also improve
core strength, coordination, balance, flexibility, muscle tone and spatial
awareness.

SUMMARY
Modern dance is a broad concept that encompasses a wide range of
dance styles. It's a group of dance styles that's often referred to as a dance
genre.
Previously, the term ‘Modern Dance' was used to describe the
perspectives and movement concepts of a group of dancers or
choreographers. Techniques such as Martha Graham's, Doris Humphrey's,
and Lestor Horton's. The development of Modern dance as an art form came
about by breaking the ‘rules’ of what dance was ‘supposed’ to be. Dedicated
individuals such as Loie Fuller, Ruth St. Denis, Isadora Duncan, and Ted
Shawn were performing frequently by the end of the nineteenth century. For
lack of a better term, the term "traditional" dance was applied to the work of
dancers who based their creations on idealized Greek or Roman models.
These new dancers preferred a more relaxed, freestyle approach to the
dance. Modern dance pioneers danced in bare feet and free flowing often
revealing costumes.
Many modern dancers love it because it allows them to be more
expressive and free in their movements. Modern dance, while having distinct
technical elements, allows the dancer to express themselves in ways that
ballet does not always allow. Dancers in modern dance have the opportunity
to express themselves through movement. It also helps you gain a lot of
strength! A Modern Dancer uses his or her entire body, from floor work to
leaps to partnering, and must learn to move from one stage to the next
easily and effortlessly. It is often beneficial for a dancer to be exposed to as
many different forms of dance as possible. If you want to create a well-
rounded dancer and artist, you must incorporate Modern Dance into a
young dancer's ballet training.
It's difficult to find a ballet company these days that doesn't have
contemporary works. The more flexible a dancer is, the more likely he or she
is to have a long-term career! Modernity also contributes to the creation of a
strong foundation
Lyrical dance is similar to ballet in that it incorporates many of the
technical aspects of ballet while also allowing for more expression through
fluid movements. Lyrical dance is a combination of jazz, contemporary, and
modern dance styles performed within the framework of ballet.
Lyrical dance gets its name from the word lyrical, which means poetic
and expressive. Lyrical can refer to arts, literature, or music, and it can also
refer to expressing oneself imaginatively and beautifully.
The dance is performed to music that allows for the expression of
natural and deep personal emotions; it is rhapsodic or enthusiastic in
nature. The dance form employs songs with lyrics that allow the dancer to
express the desired emotions.

SUMMARY
Is a fusion dance genre that incorporates elements of popping,
locking, breaking, jazz, ballet, tap dancing and other styles and is typically
performed to hip-hop, R&B, funk, electronic or pop music.
The term is also used as an exonym and umbrella term for various
street dance styles either performed to hip-hop music or that have become
associated with hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles created in
the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. The
television show Soul Train and the 1980s films Breakin', Beat Street and
Wild Style showcased these crews and dance styles in their early stages; it
gave these styles and hip-hop national exposure.
The dance industry responded with a commercial, studio-based
version of hip-hop—sometimes called "new style"—and a hip-hop influenced
style of jazz dance called "jazz-funk". Classically trained dancers developed
these studio styles in order to create choreography from the hip-hop dances
that were performed on the street. Because of this development, hip-hop
dance is practiced in both dance studios and outdoor spaces.

SUMMARY
Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed
during the mid-twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the
dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with
particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe. Although originally
informed by and borrowing from classical, modern, and jazz styles, it has
come to incorporate elements from many styles of dance. Due to its
technical similarities, it is often perceived to be closely related to modern
dance, ballet, and other classical concert dance styles.
In terms of the focus of its technique, contemporary dance tends to
combine the strong but controlled legwork of ballet with modern that
stresses on torso. It also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and
recovery, and improvisation characteristics of modern dance. Unpredictable
changes in rhythm, speed, and direction are often used, as well.
Additionally, contemporary dance sometimes incorporates elements of non-
western dance cultures, such as elements from African dance including bent
knees, or movements from the Japanese contemporary dance.
Contemporary dance draws on both classical ballet and modern
dance, whereas postmodern dance was a direct and opposite response to
modern dance. Merce Cunningham is considered to be the first
choreographer to “develop an independent attitude towards modern dance”
and defy the ideas that were established by it.
There is usually a choreographer who makes the creative decisions
and decides whether the piece is an abstract or a narrative one. Dancers are
selected based on their skill and training. The choreography is determined
based on its relation to the music or sounds that is danced to. The role of
music in contemporary dance is different from in other genres because it
can serve as a backdrop to the piece.

SUMMARY
My reflection on jazz music is all the other songs featured instruments
such as trumpet, saxophone, drums, and bass. I've only seen the guitars of
rock bands. As a result, I was very interested to hear what kind of sound an
electronic guitar would make when playing jazz music. As they began to play
the music, I was amazed that an electronic guitar could produce such a
sound. It's also a very fast tempo. Despite being very mellow and tender, the
fast tempo made. Jazz inspires, enjoys, and rewards musical innovation,
originality, personality, and meaningful expressiveness. Jazz has never
stopped changing. Even when playing in more traditional styles, the music
is most effective and true to jazz's values when it is creative within the
context of the style being explored. Jazz contains all the elements found in
other types of music: It has melody; that is the song's tune, which you are
most likely to remember. It has harmony, which is the addition of notes to
make the melody sound fuller. It has rhythm, which is the song's heartbeat.
But it's this cool thing called improvisation that distinguishes jazz. Jazz
music is a stress reliever. Jazz music is so effective at relieving tension and
stress that it can be heard in spas and massage parlors all over the world.
Jazz music has a calming effect on your body, which signals your brain's
central nervous system to lower your heart rate and respiratory rate.
Furthermore, according to research, jazz music can improve your memory,
focus, verbal ability, and mood. Jazz dance was popularized in ballrooms by
the big bands of the swing era (1930s and 1940s) and paralleled the birth
and spread of jazz itself from roots in Black American society. jazz steps
include basic turns such as chains, piques, pirouettes, jazz turns, and some
ballet turns. Grandiose jetes, turning jumps, and tour jetes are examples of
leaps. The "jazz walk" is a jazz dance signature that can be performed in a
variety of styles. Isolation movements, precise leg, arm, and foot movements,
breathtaking jumping techniques, and twists are all common elements of
jazz dance. The Jazz Analysis jazz, classic jazz, contemporary jazz,
commercial jazz, Latin jazz, afro jazz, street jazz. Jazz contains all the
elements found in other types of music: It has melody; that is the song's
tune, which you are most likely to remember. It has harmony, which is the
addition of notes to make the melody sound fuller. It has rhythm, which is
the song's heartbeat. But it's this cool thing called improvisation that
distinguishes jazz. Blues, syncopation, swing, and creative freedom are key
elements of jazz.
Jazz dance is a performance [dance] and style that in the United
States arose in the mid 20th century.[1] Jazz dance may allude to
vernacular jazz or to Broadway or dramatic jazz. The two types expand on
African-American vernacular styles of dance that arose with jazz music.
Vernacular jazz dance incorporates ragtime moves, Charleston, Lindy hop,
and mambo. Famous vernacular jazz dance entertainers incorporate The
Whitman Sisters, Florence Mills, Ethel Waters, Al and Leon, Frankie
Manning, Norma Miller, Dawn Hampton, and Katherine Dunham. Dramatic
jazz dance performed on the show stage was promoted by Jack Cole, Bob
Fosse, Eugene Louis Faccuito, and Gus Giordano.
The term 'jazz dance' has been used in ways that have little or nothing
to do with jazz music. Since the 1940s, Hollywood movies and Broadway
shows have used the term to describe the choreographies of Bob Fosse and
Jerome Robbins. In the 1990s, colleges and universities applied to the term
to classes offered by physical education departments in which students
dance to various forms of pop music, rarely jazz.[2]
The importance of Jazz dance to the health and physical fitness
increased strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance. The athletic,
full-bodied nature of jazz dance develops arm strength from floor work, leg
strength from jumps, and core strength from coordinating the limbs.
Develop Talent and Skill. Taking Jazz dancing classes will enable
you to gain a new skill while developing a new talent. You will acquire the
capacity to learn new dance patterns and steps quickly and correctly while
developing the necessary talents to perform them with self-assurance and
style. Even rapid rhythm changes and movements will become easier for you
as you practice and perform each new step or dance sequence to gain fluent
style and mastery.
Alleviate Everyday Stress. Participating in Jazz dance classes will
help you relieve you of the everyday stress and strain in modern life. Instead
of struggling through strenuous workouts at the gym, why not learn a new
dance sequence with fast-moving steps and rhythmic transitions? Not only
will you become more relaxed and calm, but you will also enjoy each session
thoroughly while eliminating both physical and mental tensions and stress
caused by your fast-paced, often challenging daily schedule.
Fast-Forward your Social Life. By taking jazz dance class, you will get
your social life moving at a faster, much more exciting and rewarding pace.
Not only will you meet new people and develop new friendships at jazz
dancing classes, but you will also be dancing with the different new and
interesting partners during each session. This offers an ideal opportunity for
you to socialize, have fun and even start a new romance with your choice of
dance partners.
Banish Life’s Stalemates. If you feel that your daily routine or travel
schedule restricts or stymies your activities and pleasures in life, you can
definitely gain major benefits from enrolling in jazz dance classes. This type
of dance, especially when studied and performed on a regular basis, will
alleviate any feelings of being limited or stalemated as you enjoy this
popular activity and develop your latent talents.
Choose Active Over Passive. Taking regular jazz dance instruction
will make you an active rather than a passive, person. Movement inspires
you to take an active part in all that you do in your life. Somehow, after you
mastered and performed a few basic dance steps, you will understand the
value of continuing important motion in other areas of your life. This will
keep you from slowing down or shying away from engaging in an active life
of contribution to your surrounding community, as a dancer and a
participating member of your city or neighborhood.
Jazz dance is one of the best Form of Dance ever discovered and
invented because it has a lot of benefits that was said above and it has also
magnificent and inspiring origin. A lot of variations of jazz dance is
performed and all of them is just so beautiful on their own. Every variety of
jazz dance is just unique and easy to perform.
