students, Kamalnayan Bajaj Nursing College, Aurangabad.
Respected chief guests, principal ma’am, teachers and student a very good morning
to everyone. As we have gathered here for the celebration of world’s breastfeeding
week. today is 1st of august and the 1st day of breastfeeding week.
We Welcome all the respected Dignitaries, Teaching faculties, Members from
Management committee and all the students present over here.
On the behalf of KBNC, I welcome you all for the celebration of breastfeeding
week.
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
Before Starting the programme, I would like to give a little introduction of our
today’s Guests.
1. To Grace this wonderful event we have with us, Dr. Prerna Deodhar
Ma’am as chief guest for today’s event.
Ma’am has completed her MD in 1994 with gold medal from govt. medical
college, Aurangabad
she has 28 years of experience after MD,out of which 7 years in abroad (UK).
IN UK she worked as a specialist registrar at sophisticated tertiary centers at
Liverpool &Manchester.
She has Gained tremendous experience in the sub-specialties like
Genetics And Fetal Medicine,
Critique Care Obstetrics,
Genetic Counselling,
Menopause.
Ma’am also attended and presented papers at various European conferences
and meetings.
Ma’am is Expertise in tertiary obstetric and gynecological care, complicated
pregnancies, bad obstetric history.
At present she is working as a critical care obstetrician and gynecologist at
Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital since 2003.
Ma’am You have made us everyone proud by your work in Various capacities.

2. It gives me an immense pleasure to introduce our beloved principal of
Kamalnayan Bajaj nursing college,Dr. Supriya Chinchpure ma’am
The sculpture of human character , a seasoned scholar and a navigator of this
flagship of knowledge.
Ma’am has earned Doctor of philosophy in nursing from Mahatma Gandhi Institute
of Health Sciences, Mumbai.
She is a “Certified Lactation Practitioner”accredited by American Nurses
credentialing canterscommission and recognized by International Board of
lactation consultants.
Madam Has certified in “Pediatric Advance Life Support Course” July 2003 in
accordance with the standard of American Heart Association.
Madam have alsocontributed in many international and national publication
FIRST AUTHOR TO THE BOOK: Foundation of Nursing, Vijayam
publications.

INTRODUCTION:
World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August to
encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. It
commemorates the Innocenti Declaration signed in August 1990 by government
policymakers, WHO, UNICEF and other organizations to protect, promote and
support breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding is the best way to provide infants with the nutrients they need. WHO
recommends exclusive breastfeeding starting within one hour after birth until a
baby is 6 months old. Nutritious complementary foods should then be added while
continuing to breastfeed for up to 2 years or beyond.
Every year a theme is given by WABA for spreading awareness, to encourage
breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.
THEME OPENING:
I request all the dignitaries to please come forward and unfold this year’s
world breastfeeding week theme.
This year, the theme is "Step up for Breastfeeding -Educate and Support". The
year's campaign will focus on strengthening the capacity of actors that have to
protect, promote and support breastfeeding across different levels of society.
We will see a short video on theme of 2022, given by WABA
Objectives of WABA (World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action) for World
Breastfeeding Week 2022:
1. INFORM - people about their role in strengthening the warm chain of
support for breastfeeding
2. ANCHOR - breastfeeding as part of good nutrition, food security and
reduction of inequalities
3. ENGAGE - with individuals and organisations along the warm chain of
support for breastfeeding
4. GALVANISE - action on strengthening capacity of actors and systems for
transformational change.
