LESSON 5 : HISTORY OF ART

I. Topic : Art ahistory (Asian, Western,Philippines)


II. Objectives :
At the end of this lesson , the student should be able to :
a) Describe history of asian, Western and Philippine Art
b) List relative artists and artworks per periods from Asian,
Western and Philippine Art.
c) Appreciate the history of art by looking for ways to promote
it.
III. CONTENT:

Activity 1 : 3 2 1
Directions : This game is called 3 ,2,1 stands for things you haf
learned from the discussions . 3 things you learned, 2 things you
discovered and 1 question you still have.
ANSWER
1. By studying art history I learn to draw conclussions ,make
inferences, argue a point and increase my skills such as critical
thinking , visual comprehension and written communication.
2. I discovered the importance of art in our lives and their talents
for doing a beautiful and creative artworks.
3. Where can I find a list of the most ancient works of art.

V. Assessment
1. Give the significance of studying history of art. It is
essential ?
Looking at art form the past by studying art history can
contribute to who we are as a people today. We can look at what
has been before us.,and able to view the world today with more
complete perspective and better underatanding.
2. How studying history of arts will improve the arts we have
now?
Studying the arts of the past teaches us how people have seen
themeselves and their world, and how they want to show this
others. Art history provides a means by which we can
understand our human past and its relationship to our present,
because the act of making art is one of humanity's most
ubiquitos activities.
3. How can you promote history of Philippine Art? In what
ways?
I will promote it through social media to expose their work
which is valuable for the artist image.
LESSON 6 : SOUL-MAKING
I. Topic : Soul Making
II. Objectives :
At the end of this lesson, the student should be able to :
a) Define soul-makinh and identify art improvisation and art
appropriation;
b)Give the significance of soul-making;
c) Perform Spoken Poetry.

1. Aside from spoken poetry,in what form of art you can best
represent your emotions ?
Through painting I can show my feelings and emotions .
Painting also produces a relaxing , open environment where I
feel safe to explore my own creativity.
2. Why some people view art appropriation us unoriginal or
theft?
Most artist who appropriate do so because they are interested in
how existing imagea or sounds can ne used to create new works
that refer back to the original work while producing a new
cultural artifact.
3. Is improvisation good or bad in art ? Give your rationale.
Yes, improvisation teaches us how to make decisions quickly,
how to keep calm ina fast and emotional situation as well as how
to think, act and feel simultaneously.
4. Give one local artist that inspired you to do art. Why ?
Fernando Amorsolo inspired me because he is a peraon who is
young painter and he do that for such a long time. His painting
was very interesting, you will adore if you see it.
