Introduction

As the world face the Covid 19 pandemic, students now a days had to encounter lots of
changes including their lifestyle, outdoor hobbies, social distancing and school activities which
one of the main highlights in this lockdown. However, Commission High Education (CHED) has
implemented Online Flexible Learning and Modular to continue and ensure the future of the
students. This suggest that the mode of learning is based on the capacity and ability of a child to
handle a certain task.

The disproportionate impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on vulnerable

populations has highlighted grave health inequities, particularly among marginalized youth. Also
this brought indirect effects on minority and low-income youth, including exacerbated poverty,
learning losses, poorer social-emotional and mental health, and higher school dropout rates
attributable to school closures. The absence of physical activity to students has a huge impact
significantly in their physical and emotional health. School physical education represents the
largest youth intervention worldwide, given that physical education is a compulsory subject in
many school curriculum. A lot of benefits from physical education and health subject. It gains
awareness and importance of a healthy lifestyle and also retain a higher level of knowledge as an
outcome of overall health. Dance is a huge part of every Philippine culture. Dancing is about
expressing yourself and recreation and it can also be done as a competitive activity. Dancing can
be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, sizes and shapes. It has a wide range of physical and
mental benefits. It enhances the condition of heart, lungs and tone our muscle and strength.
Improve blood pressure, brain, strength and endurance, control weight and reduces stress and
anxiety. In this way, Physical Education it creates helpful relationship between students and the
teachers, we are able to create and develop a new knowledge, skills, good teamwork and build a
confidence to perform in a wide range of learning activities.

GENERAL INFORMATION

HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY

Jose Rizal University was originally founded as the Far Eastern College School of
Accounts, Commerce, and Finance in 1919 as a non-stock non-profit non-sectarian private
educational institution to blaze the trail in the field of commercial education. Its founder was
the late Vicente Fabella, the first Filipino certified public accountant. The name was
subsequently changed to Jose Rizal College in 1922, in honor of the great Filipino patriot and
martyr who tried to awaken his countrymen in his writings to the need for economic
selfsufficiency and independence.

The university was first located at R. Hidalgo Street in Quiapo, Manila. It offered the
four-year bachelor’s degree program in Commerce as well as the high school program. It had
continued to provide educational services since 1919 except during the Japanese occupation of
the Philippines in World War II when it remained closed as a gesture of protest despite repeated
attempts by the occupation authorities at the time to have it opened.

The university reopened after the end of the war in 1945 and, faced with the need for
expanded facilities, transferred in 1950 to its present site in Mandaluyong City, then part of the
province of Rizal and subsequently Metro Manila.

The university is a founding member of the Philippine Association of Colleges and

Universities (PACU) in 1932, of the Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools of Business
(PACSB) in 1962, of the Private Education Retirement Annuity Association (PERAA) in 1974,
and Philippine Association of Personnel Management in Private Schools (PAPMIPS) in 1997.

In its 100 years of existence, the university has achieved the singular distinction of
having produced a remarkable number of successful graduates who have enjoyed the respect of
the nation. Among them are included a President of the Philippines, a justice of the Supreme
Court, several members of the legislature and the Cabinet, some ambassadors, no less than
6

twenty heads of banks and financial corporations, several heads of educational institutions,
acknowledged leaders in the various fields of industry, commerce, agriculture and trade, and
armed forces officers of general rank. It can rightfully claim that it has contributed its share in
the molding of character and training of the successful graduates.

The careful combination of proven competence in instruction plus valuable experience

in the practice of the profession has been the guide of the university in the selection of faculty
members. This policy, combined with carefully planned programs in the various disciplines and
adequate facilities, has formed the basis for the impressive educational record of the university.

PRELIM

WEEK 1: FIRST MEETING

GROUP 1

For week 1. January 29,2022. Our Professor Marietta Bedia announced that we would
have a synchronous session. It is also the first day of the second semester, so we will have an
orientation for this day. The first thing we do is have a prayer followed by attendance. Next is
our professor introducing herself. After introducing herself, we are next to introduce ourselves
by saying our name, hobbies, etc. that will be known by our classmates. After that, we go with
the main agenda for this orientation, talking about the guidelines, the introduction of P.E, how
the grading system works, the canvas application, and last, the general requirements for this
semester. After this, our professor assigned a leader by group, and the last thing that we do is
open our cameras to take a picture of those who attended the orientation.
15

GROUP 2

This is our first Synchronous (Orientation) meeting, January 28, 2022. Our professor
discussed the guidelines and rules in Jose Rizal University to avoid any form of confusion, so
that students are aware. Also, our professor requires us to open our camera and we're happy to
see those faces because it is the first time that we saw our new classmates from other section.
Actually, in this session our teacher just introduced herself and her background and some of our
classmate just introduced their self too. Also, our teacher just discussed her policy and date of
both Synchronous and Asynchronous time of P.E and she also discussed the topics this subject
for the whole 1st semester and its grading system. We hope that we learn a lot about this subject.
16

GROUP 3

January 28, 2022, our Professor announced that we will have our first synchronous
meeting at exactly 11:30 am. She introduced the course outline of the subject in which we will
be learning the Folk dance of the Philippines and reminded us about the grading systems. After
that She introduced herself to us and the 101f students in the last semester had a chance to
introduce themselves too. It was a nice meeting, we are looking forward to the outputs of our
performances.
17

GROUP 4

We had our first synchronous session with Prof. Bedia and discussed the scope of our
second semester in PE2. She announced the groupings for the group performance tasks and also
the proper attire we should wear during the session. We eventually enjoyed the first meeting that
happened.
18

GROUP 5

In this week our professor discussed the rules and guidelines in Jose Rizal University
which are very crucial to avoid any form of confusion and to learn the policy of the school, so
that students are aware. Also, we introduce ourselves to be able to know each other. Some of the
students are glad because their professor last semester is also the same, so that would be an
advantage. Hoping that every one of us will have a good relationship. For this semester we’re
looking for effective communication between the teacher and the students to come up in the better
flow of this term. Ma’am Bedia also discusses her rules in the class both synchronous and
asynchronous and the task that we need to accomplish for the whole semester. All of us are hoping
that we’ve learned a lot about this subject, so that we can apply in the future.
19

WEEK 2: SECOND MEETING

GROUP 1

For week 2. February 5, 2022, our Professor Marietta Bedia announced that we would
have an asynchronous session. This day, our professor told us to reply to the announcement for
our attendance and also read and study the material in Module 2, which is "INTRODUCTION
OF DANCE AND PHILIPPINE FOLK DANCE." She also reminded us to take our first quiz.
20

GROUP 2

This is our Asynchronous session, which occurs on February 5, 2022. It's another
motivation day by simply saying good morning to our Teacher Mrs. Bedia in a chat section. Our
professor just uploaded the Quiz 1 all of us are taking the quiz and we're happy because most of
us got a perfect score. She also published the PPT about the Introduction of Dance and Philippines
Folk Dance, which shows the classification of dance that is found in the Philippines. For this
lesson, we've learned a lot about the history of folk dance, which is really important to us as
Filipinos to preserve our cultural identity. It shows the body movements, which are locomotor
and non-locomotor. We also learned about the classification of dance that is found in the
Philippines, where the characteristics of dance show the different cultures in certain places.
Afterwards, we proceed to our group activity in which we will all perform the Fundamentals
Steps in Folkdance simply by taking a video of ourselves and compiling it together with the
group. It's a great day for us to learn something new again.
21

GROUP 3

Today is February 5, 2022, at exactly 11:00 am, our professor Mrs. Marietta Bedia
announced that this day is our first asynchronous class. Our professor also reminds us to study
the material in module 2, reply to her announcement that serves as attendance for this day, and
take the first written quiz in her subject before the due date. The result of our quiz is good because
of the statistics we’ve got from this. 7 out of 11 got a score of 10, 2 out of 11 got a score of 9, 1
out of 11 got a score of 8, while 1 out of 11 got a score of 7. Everyone does their job to study
module 2, thus the result of our hard work reflects our scores.
22

GROUP 4

In the second week of our schedule, we had an asynchronous session in which Ma'am
Bedia gave us a quiz. All of the members have studied the module and already have taken the
quiz well. Furthermore, we have commented to the announcement board to serve as our
attendance.
23

GROUP 5

This week give us motivation after we read the quote in the announcement of Mrs.
Bedia “ Every morning start a new page in your story make it a great one today”. Yes, we should
be productive every single day to have a memorable day that can help us to keep moving forward.
We, as students, need to realize that time cannot go back, be the great one today and see the result
in the future. This quote means a lot. We should conquer “ YOU” to achieve happiness.

For this week's lesson, we’ve learned the history of folk dance, its nature of the different
dances, its importance to preserve the cultural identity and diversity and how to perform the basic
steps of the Philippine folk dance. Dance is an expression of the body which has two types these
are locomotor and non-locomotor. We learned that folk dance is usually a traditional dance of
indigenous people around the Philippines which shows the characteristics of different cultures in
a certain place. Filipinos give the importance of dance especially when there are occasions like,
“kasal”, “binyag”, and celebrating birthdays. We’re happy this week because most of us got the
perfect score in the quiz.

30

GROUP 2

For this week our professor just published PPT about basic steps of 3/4 signature. We
learned the 3/4 signature, the step wasn’t hard to follow but i think some of us are having a hard
time in editing. However, it is our Individual Performance Task, all of us are busy doing the video
performance, helps a lot for us because it benefits us to maintain our body healthy and to reduce
our stress and anxiety by simply doing those tasks. Learning those steps in folk dance is the big
help for us, specially to dancers they will be able to familiarize themselves with other dances to
come. Together, we also prepare and plan our Prelim video that to be submitted next week Title

presentation that we did last 1st semester in PE. The different videos that played entertained me
very well. We got so happy because even though we are attending school via online class, it
doesn't bother us to create something this good. It showed the different kinds of talent that the
students of JRU have. The cooperation of every student is shown and you can tell that they
enjoyed what they are doing.

GROUP 4

Asynchronous schedule for week 4, Ma'am Bedia told us to comment on our name,
section, professor's name in the University Week zoom session and sent it to our group chat. All
of the members also greeted the announcement board as attendance and sent the screenshot of
attending zoom. Since there was no meeting, Ma'am Bedia published an individual performance
task. We already passed it ahead of the due date.
33

GROUP 5

For week 4, our prof held a zoom meeting and introduced the basic steps of ¾ time
signature. She also assigned us a group activity demonstrating the steps we have learned through
the zoom meeting. The steps weren’t that difficult to follow yet since we were still learning the
basics. However, the challenging part of this activity was editing. I think the editors were finding
it hard to make the members in sync with each other since everyone didn’t have similar timing.
Learning the basics is important when practicing a folk dance because it is the foundation of all
the steps that will follow and also, the dancers will be easily familiarized with the other dances
to come.
34

WEEK 5
GROUP 1

For week 5. February 26, 2022. Our Professor Marietta Bedia announced that we would
have a synchronous session. Today, our professor told us to reply to the announcement for our
attendance. This day is also the next group, which is group 2, which is in-charge of facilitating
the class. The first thing they do is prayer, followed by an energizer. Our professor takes our
attendance for this day. Our agenda for this is to discuss the "Introduction of Basic Steps Two
Fourth Time." After the discussion, we took a break. After the break, we had a breakout session
by group to talk about prelim examination dance. This week, our professor gave us an activity by
group. It is to make a group e-portfolio. Its contents are the weekly reflection, artifacts from every
meeting, and those collages.
35

GROUP 2

It is our last meet for Preliminary term, the professor just post an announced and reply
immediately to proceed in chat section in canvas for recognition. We begin with the prayer, which
our group facilitate it together with our prepared energizer. Afterwards, Mrs. Bedia take our
attendance. Our group chose to used Paru-paru G as music since it is popular nowadays. We are
having fun doing the dance step and it is glad to see other classmates and teacher laughing while
participating. It is actually great to start our day before the discussion. After, our professor
discussed the basic steps of 2/4 time signature such us mincing, plain polka, hop polka, change
step, cross step, close step, slide step etc. In this way we learn how to do it properly because she
has been assigned us by group to do that 2/4 signature fthe Prelim Exam. And as a leader, I
assigned the 2/4-time signature steps to my members right away so that they can start filming
themselves.
36

GROUP 3

We started at exactly 11:30 and our teacher ask for group 2 to lead the prayer after that,
we check the attendance. Group 2 also presented an energizer and all of their members are
required to dance however the first time they played the song, only a few students are
participating so our teacher requested to repeat the song and all of the members of the group must
participate extra points. And after that, we reviewed the past lesson which is the 3/4 time signature
basic step in philippine folk dance. We also talked about the upcoming prelims exam which is a
group activity about 2/4 time signature and our teacher told us that only the leader will upload
the activity in the canvas. Ms. Bedia also created a breakout room in zoom for us to discuss our
prelims performance task she visited each room and ask about our progress and before we end
our class she again checked our attendance
37

GROUP 4

For week 5, We attended the last synchronous session before the exam week. Ma'am
Bedia gave us a task to make a Group e-Portfolio to embed the artifacts and conduct activities.
The Module 5 has been discussed, we enjoyed the energizer prepared by the other group as our
last meeting for Prelims.
38

GROUP 5

Our professor Marietta Bedia announced that we would have a synchronous session.
That day our professor told us to reply to the announcement for our attendance and also that day
group 2 is in incharge of facilitating the class. The first thing that we do is pray and followed by
the energizer and after that the attendance . After facilitating the class our professor starts
discussing the 2/4 time signature basic steps because that will be our prelim exam. After that we
went to the break room of my group to have a meeting to discuss what we were going to do in
our prelim exam performance. We’ve learned that 2/4 time signatures have changed step, heel
and toe change step, mincing, plain polka, heel and toe polka, hop polka and lastly the hop step.
These fundamental steps or basic steps are most commonly used in Philippine folk dances and
this is the same as those found in foreign dances but the manner of execution is entirely different.
That’s all for week 5!
39

WEEK 6
GROUP 1

For week 6. March 2, 2022. This week is our prelim examination week. Our exam is
all about the 2/4 time signature. Our professor gave us an idea of what we were going to do on
the prelim exam before the exam. Our professor gave us a task, which is to create a video of the
combination of basic steps in 2/4 signature in Philippine Folk Dance. She also said that the music
that we will use is by Leron Leron Sinta. Also, in our video presentation, she said that we should
not forget to indicate the name of each basic step. Before the prelim examination, our group
discussed what steps to take and what to wear in the video.
40

GROUP 2

This week is our examination. The day scheduled for Physical Education is on
Wednesday, however the requirement we should accomplish is to create a Group presentation
again, entitled "Basic Dance Steps in 2/4 Time Signature," wherein as a group we will again
perform and unite together to show a great performance. Indeed, every activity has its purpose.
In this way, we, as a group, work together for a better performance while at the same time
enjoying each other's company.
41

GROUP 3

In this week 6 our teacher gave us a task little did we know that this task that she gave us
will serve as our exam in the preliminary this month. In the process of doing our practical exam,
we have struggled to make it because some of us don't know how to dance and we keep re doing
it because some of us didn't synchronize with the other members, after all of that we finally
finished our task and submitted it and our teacher gave us a passing grade because of the effort
we put on it.
42

GROUP 4

For the last week of Prelims, We had an asynchronous session and Ma'am Bedia announced that
we can submit our Exam.
43

GROUP 5

It’s exam week, and our professor has assigned a group activity that will serve as our
preliminary examination for the second semester. Dance is similar to exercise, but it also
improves balance through rhythm and music. Every step in dance has its own beat value, which
we utilize to give our dance timing and keep us in rhythm with the music, as well as to help us
organize and measure our steps when dancing. The 2/4 time signature that everyone in the class
executed is a fundamental dance step, it is how our traditional dances were created. Without it,
we would be unable to produce dances with wonderful timing and in harmony with music. This
preliminary exam has also given us the opportunity to show teamwork. Everyone of us has shared
ideas to make sure that we perform well to get the perfect score. This preliminary term gives us
knowledge about folk dance in the Philippines.
44

MIDTERM

WEEK 7
GROUP 1

We have a synchronous session and our professor announces it. On that day, group 3
was the assigned group to facilitate the class. After that, our professor takes our attendance in
class after that energizer. After warming up, our professor proceeds with the discussion, which is
the introduction of Carinosa. Discussion of what Carinosa is, the origin of Carinosa, and the
Carinosa Figures of Steps. This day we were also assigned to do the individual performance task
that will be passed on March 18. Also, after the lesson, we took a print screen on the Zoom.
45

GROUP 2

During our week 7 synchronous session, we began by saying good morning to Ma'am
Bedia, followed by an opening prayer and a morning energizer led by the group 3. Ma'am Bedia
asked everyone to open their cameras after the energizer, and she began taking everyone's
attendance. Following that, Ma'am Bedia discusses the topic for the day, which is Cariñosa.
Ma'am Bedia began her lesson by telling us that Cariñosa is the Philippine national dance. The
Cariñosa was named the national dance of the Philippines during the Marcos regime, as the
previous national dance was tinikling. Ma'am Bedia also discussed Cariñosa's history, origin,
steps, and figures, guide us for following the steps and the eight Cariñosa figures. In addition,
Ma'am Bedia showed us a Cariñosa video presentation as a guide for our midterm performance
task. After that, Ma'am Bedia took another attendance and said goodbye to the class.
46

GROUP 3

During our week 7 synchronous session, we started our class by greeting Ma'am Bedia
Good morning, followed by an opening prayer lead by Imperial, after the prayer. It's time for a
morning energizer leaded by the group 3. There have been a couple of minutes of dead air due to
the technical problem of the group 3 but so far, the group 3 did a job well done for the energizer
sessions. After doing the energizer, Ma'am bedia asked everyone to open their cam, and she
started taking everyone's attendance.

After that ma'am Bedia asked us, what we knew about the dance called Cariñosa, some of
us answered as a participation in recitation but none of us got the answer that ma'am bedia wanted
to hear. Ma'am Bedia started her lesson by telling us that Cariñosa is our National dance in the
Philippines. It was during the Marcos regime that the cariñosa was named as the national dance
of the Philippines, ma'am bedia also discussed the history, origin, steps, and figures of Cariñosa.
The origin of cariñosa was introduced to our country by the Spanish colonizers, they arrived on
the island in 1569 and the dance soon spread around the Philippines, there are two versions in
different region, In Bicol, two Hand kerchiefs are used and both dancers point their feet forward
as their hands go up at the same time, and in Visayan, couple goes as far as combing each other's
hair said by ma'am bedia. After that we tackled about the steps of cariñosa and the 8 figures of
Cariñosa. After the discussion, ma'am bedia showed us a cariñosa video presentation for our
midterm performance task. After that ma'am Bedia took an attendance once again and said
goodbye to the class.
47

GROUP 4

At the first synchronous meeting of Midterm, We greeted each and everyone first. We
had discussed the introduction of Cariñosa as a guide also for our individual performance task
for this week. The basic steps have been tackled and read by our blockmates completely.
48

GROUP 5

In week 7, we discussed the folk dance, Cariñosa. During the discussion, we learned
about its history and the meaning behind the dance itself. The dance originated from Spain and
was first introduced to Panay Island. It symbolizes a romantic scenario between two lovers. It is
clear how diverse our culture is considering that some of our folk dances, cariñosa dance for
example, stem from the spanish. Cariñosa was also the first folk dance we have performed
throughout the whole 2nd sem. Honestly, It was slightly challenging to memorize the steps but
the whole time of practicing it was enjoyable.
49

WEEK 8
GROUP 1

Our professor announced that we have an asynchronous class. In that announcement, we

need to reply with our attendance. It is also the day that we have an Individual Forum which is
all about the Philippine Folk Dance. From that forum, we need to answer the following question
that was given by our professor.
50

GROUP 2

Our professor mentioned that our session will be asynchronous, meaning we won't be
meeting via Zoom this week. Rather than squandering time, we engaged in activities related to
other disciplines. Our professor also assigned an individual forum about Filipino folk dance that
we had until 1:30 p.m. to complete. We liked responding to the forum since it gave us the
opportunity to voice our own thoughts and opinions. The forum allowed us to see how our
classmates perceived the folk dances that our forefathers produced, so it was fun exchanging
thoughts with them while at the same time learn something to their answers regarding the Topic.
51

GROUP 3

March 19th, 2022 is our week 8, and week 8 is an asynchronous session, so we had an
individual forum where we answered questions and then responded to the other's opinions. Our
professor had an announcement, and we responded to the announcement, which served as our
attendance for that day.
52

GROUP 4

In this asynchronous week, Prof. Bedia gave us an individual forum to discuss how folk
dance is important in today’s era and based on our own preference which folk dance we like the
most with the anticipated post of at least twice as a reply. Eventually, all of the members have
posted and participated.
53

GROUP 5

Our PED professor announced today that our class will be asynchronous, which
means we will not meet via Zoom this week. We spent our time doing activities in other subjects
instead of wasting time. Our professor also assigned us an activity to complete until 1:30 p.m.,
which is an individual forum about Filipino folk dance. We enjoyed responding to the forum
because we were able to express our own ideas and opinions. It was enjoyable exchanging ideas
with our classmates because the forum allowed us to see how they viewed the folk dances that
our forefathers created.
54

WEEK 9
GROUP 1

Our professor announced that we would have a synchronous session. Group 4 was the
assigned group on this day to facilitate the class. Following the prayer, our professor will take
attendance in class, which will be followed by an energizer.energizer, it proceeds to the
discussion, which is the induction of Polka sa Nayon. After the discussion, we have a breakout
session. It is a meeting by group to discuss the group performance task. We plan how to divide,
what color we wear, and everything. Following the breakout session, we return to the main
session to take another attendance and print the day's screen.
55

GROUP 2

Group 4 delivers an energizer that has the potential to bring us back to life. We had our
second synchronous meeting for the exam, during which we met with our professor and discussed
Polka sa Nayon. Ms. Marietta Bedia introduced us to Polka sa Nayon and demonstrated some
examples of how to perform this traditional Filipino dance. Due to this lesson, we gained a great
deal of knowledge about this subject. Our adviser's assignment prompted the formation, music,
costume, and countings to produce a group performance task based on the Philippines' Polka sa
Nayon dance style.
56

GROUP 3

In this week, group 4 presents an energizer that can make us alive and kicking. We had
our 2nd synchorous meeting for the midterm and we met our professor and talked about Polka sa
Nayon. Ms. Marietta Bedia introduced Polka sa Nayon to us and show some examples on how
you can execute this folk dance. After this lesson, we learned so much about this topic. The
formation, countings, music, costume, and countings were due to the fact that our adviser gives
us a group performance task that is all about Polka sa Nayon.

GROUP 4
We had started the synchronous session with an energizer of our group for them to be
active this morning. After that, the same goes what happened to the previous synchronous. We
had tackled the introduction of polka sa nayon as our topic for this week and it went thoroughly.
57
58

GROUP 5

For the past weeks, our professor introduced different dances in the Philippines. This
week she tackles the ‘Polka sa Nayon’ that is a ballroom polka dance. This dance was popular in
the province of Batangas during the Spanish time. It is composed of 4 figures and a saludo at the
end of the dance. Honestly, it is fun to perform this especially this a fun couple dance, you need
a partner to dance with you. It is a difficult type of dance since it has different variations of foot
steps and hand, at the same time it’s fun to learn and preserve dances in our culture.
59

WEEK 10
GROUP 1

Our professor announced that we have an asynchronous session. We also need to reply
to that announcement with our attendance. Our professor also reminded us to not forget to pass
our group performance task.
60

GROUP 2

Mrs. Marietta Bedia, our dear professor, had posted an announcement on our canvas
regarding our asynchronous class for today. Additionally, she included a reminder concerning
the submission of our group performance work in Polka sa Nayon and mentioned that the
attendance for that day is still valid if we respond to the announcement she made. This makes our
group happy since we are all prepared and had a smooth plan for the group activity that Ms. Bedia
had tasked us with. The work and exhaustion that went into this group performance were worth
it because we were rewarded with a perfect score, which motivates us to develop and do our best
in the upcoming activities.
61

GROUP 3

Today is April 2, 2022, Saturday. Our dear professor Mrs. Marietta Bedia has an
announcement in our canvas regarding our asynchronous class for today. She also included in her
announcement about the submission of our group performance task in Polka sa Nayon and the
attendance for that day is valid if we do reply to that announcement she made. Our group is happy
because we are perfect for the group activity that Ma'am Bedia asked us to do. The preparation
and tiredness for this group performance is worth it because it was rewarded with a perfect score
so we will improve and do our best in the next activities we have.

GROUP 4
For week 10, we had an asynchronous session. As our Professor gave our second group
performance task of Polka sa Nayon dance. So far all of the members have contributed their
assigned step to accomplish our video. Eventually, our group passed the output ahead of time.
62
63
64

GROUP 5

For this week, our professor decided to be asynchronous because we’re synchronous
on the previous week. Ma’am Bedia remind us about group performance task which is Polka sa
Nayon and we’re happy because we past it on time. We are grateful because we got perfect in
PT. Out experience for this performance is not easy because the moves is hard but we’re glad
since we did it. One thing that we love the most for this week is the quote that ma’am Bedia
provided, “Problems never stay strong just put the signature in the experience book of your life
and move away”. This quote motivates us since we are really tired of school work but reading
65

this quote helps us to remember that no matter what problems you have, there's a pathway towards
a good situation.

WEEK 11
GROUP 1

This week is our examination day in P.E 2. Our task is to make a group video
presentation of the SUA KA SUA Folk Dance. Before the examination day, our professor gave
it in advance just to make sure we were ready to pass it and to plan it well. We should pass it in
on time when our exam will begin.
66

GROUP 2

It is supposed to be our Synchronous, but it is a holiday. That's why our prof just
announced to our group chat a gentle reminder for us to be able to check and learn the uploaded
powerpoint presentation posted on canvas and about the Group Performance task for Sua Ku Sua
which is the video presentation. It is a new folk dance that was introduced this week. It is a
courtship dance in which dancers interact with one another through the use of fans and dance
moves. Professor Bedia provided a reference video for us to see how this dance is performed. As
we were assigned to create a video presentation for our Midterm Performance Exam, this lead us
to a conflict situation wherein tons of school works were given to us this week but good thing
our group still manage the time and maximize the days we are about to do the task. We experience
multitasking while learning from our actions.
67

GROUP 3

In this week, we were just preparing for our midterm practical exam which is the Sua ku
Sua. Our leader already started to fill up the portfolio for the term and the collaboration for the
whole class.

GROUP 4
WEEK 11

For the last synchronous session, we had discussed the introduction of Sua Ku Sua for our
Midterm Performance Exam this week 12. The session and discussion of the important steps that
should be included for the exam were expounded effectively and ended well.

GROUP 5

It’s exam week and our professor has assigned a group activity that will serve as our
midterm exam. Dance can change a person. It’s a way for a person to build the confidence and
find out what their strengths are. It’s a way for you to express yourself through moving your
body. Our midterm exam is a group activity dance which is the Sua Ku Sua dance Sua Ku Sua
means “My Pomelo Tree” it originated in Jolo Sulu where most of the people living there are
farmers or sea farmers. The Sua Ku Sua was made to be a courtship dance where it is performed
70

by two people . This midterm exam has also gives us the opportunity to show the teamwork
everyone of us shares ideas so that we will get a perfect score.

WEEK 12
GROUP 1

This week is a Holiday. It was a Black Saturday.

71

GROUP 2

In week 12, it is our Midterm examination, the day we will submit our Midterm
Presentation video about Sua Ku Sua. We performed Sua Ku Sua the group leader divided each
figure/stewhich p for us to do. Each member should dance to the figures assigned to them. And
there is also one member that was tasked with editing the video. We did a great job following and
memorizing the figures, and we had fun performing it because of its simple but basic moves,
good thing our leader divided it well for us to do it easily. Afterwards, we were able to pass our
Midterm Exam Video Presentation on time, and we're glad because we got a great score from it.
We did a great job as a team. We learned so much from our experience and gained knowledge
about its origin, the Sua Ku Sua.
72

Group 3

April 6, 2022, Monday. Today is our Midterm Examination in Physical Education 2, our
dear professor Mrs. Marietta Bedia has a reminder in our canvas about the examination for this
day. Our midterm examination is a video presentation about the execution of Sua Ku Sua, in this
presentation is a group collaboration. We passed our midterm examination on time and we’ve got
a score of 19/20. We are not getting a perfect score for this video presentation, maybe it's because
of the improper execution of each figure, but it's okay that we got a score of 19/20 we'll probably
recover and manifest in the next examination for this subject
73

Group 4

In our last asynchronous session of week 12, our Professor announced and reminded us
of the schedule time of the Exam. We have submitted our Midterm Performance Exam
completely.

GROUP 2

Our instructor held a synchronous class via Zoom in week 13. During the synchronous
session, our professor reminds us of the activities we need to complete in the final term. We also
had an extra-credit recitation. Following that, we will begin our ballroom lesson. We discovered
that ballroom is a well-known couple dance with no set patterns. One of its advantages is that it
is good for the body and will help you boost your confidence. It also helps to improve your body
posture. Ballroom, like other dances, requires practice in order to perform well. Our professor
decided to dismiss us after the discussion.
77

chat, but she left an assignment which is to answer the survey given posted on canvas and later
on send a screenshot on the group chat. She also left an exercise for us to complete. It was a
private forum dedicated to the cha-cha, our favorite social dance. We responded to the forum as
usual, sharing our personal experiences with cha-cha and our favorite social dance. Almost
everyone in the forum responded to someone's comment with personal criticism, views, or similar
experiences, making the topic lively. Reading everyone's replies is fascinating since some people
had similar experiences, some had quite different responses, and some presented extremely
surprising insights.
82

GROUP 3

Our professor gave us work in week 14 to make a video about the basics of cha-cha, and
then she gave us an individual forum about the essentials of cha-cha. After we completed the
homework, our professor complimented us on how hard we worked.

Our professor announced in our class group chat that we will not be having a zoom
meeting this week, but she left an activity for us to answer. It was an individual forum about cha-
cha and the social dance that we like the most. As usual, we answered the forum and shared our
personal experiences regarding cha-cha and our favorite social dance. The discussion was lively
since almost everyone in the forum replied to someone’s comment and gave their personal
feedback, thoughts, or similar experiences. It’s quite fascinating to read everyone’s responses
because some people shared similar experiences, some had very distinct responses, and some
provided very astonishing insights.
85

WEEK 15
GROUP 1

the preparation for the National Election 2022. Our professor did not discuss the lesson because
we just met for some reminders and let us only answer the forums and open the Group

groove with this music in this kind of dance. It was evident in our eyes that the enjoyment and
cooperation of our group showed in the activity.

this final term. With that being said, these performance tasks she referred to were the group and
individual performance tasks which showcase the cha cha basics steps and basics steps of hip-
hop dances. She also told us how our exam on her subject would be and it is a group activity that
requires a video of the group dancing a hip-hop dance. The hip-hop dance is a bit challenging for
some who are not good at dancing but it can do great for a workout. These activities make the
students move around a lot and will get them to exercise their bodies.
90

was group 3's turn to lead the class. The first thing that we do is prayer, followed by attendance
and energizer. After that, we have a recap of the introduction of hip hop dance. We also have a
break out room. This break out room is something that we need to say good bye to each other and
talk about the exam. We also did a small talk and took some pictures. After the break out room,
we went back to our main session. We did another attendance and print screen. We also have an
individual performance task that we need to pass.

GROUP 2

On week 17, it is our last Synchronous class held in zoom. Our professor called us for
attendance. Our prof discussed the introduction of hip-hop dance. Hip-hop refers to street dance
genres that are mostly performed to hip-hop music or have developed as a result of hip-hop
culture. It features a wide range of 1970s and 1980s genres, primarily breaking, locking, and
popping. It became popular because to American dance crews. In addition, we already passed our
individual performance task and we are grateful that most of us got a perfect score.

GROUP 3

Last May 21 Mrs. Marietta Bedia has an announcement in our canvas about our
synchronous class for today. During the synchronous class she mentions the two final activities,
the first owner is the E-portfolio and the second is the finals exam which is hip-hop dance and it
is by the group. Mrs. Marietta Bedia creates a breakout room for grouping for each member to
discuss the final exam. Before we end the meeting she reminded the unsettled obligation of taking
the exam.

GROUP 4

This our last synchronous for this final term, Group 2 facilitated the zoom meeting. Ma’am
Bedia discussed the introduction of Hip Hop Dance. We conducted a breakout room session for
the brainstorming for the Hip-Hop Dance Exam. Lastly, Ma’am Bedia took the print screen for the
whole session.

Group 5

Week 17 is about the introduction of Hip-hop dances. Hip-hop is a term used to describe
street dance styles that are largely performed to hip-hop music or have evolved as a result of hip-
hop culture. It contains a wide variety of genres from the 1970s and 1980s, primarily breaking,
locking, and popping. Dance crews of the United States made it popular.

WEEK 18
GROUP 1

This week is our final examination. Our task is to make a hip-hop dance. Our professor
assigns us this task ahead of time so that we can practice hip hop dance moves. That we can pass
it on time on the examination day.
101

Group 2

It is our Examination week and this will be a group Hip-Hop dance presentation. Our
leader, Jacklyn Corpos, divided each figure/step. Each member should dance to the figures
assigned to them. There is also one member who would be an editor. We easily did our tasks
because we didn't dance to all the figures and steps in Hip Hop. After all, the leader divided it
well and assigned it to each member. The presentation went well, and we had a great performance
because we showcased our talents in dancing. It is true that hip-hop is one of the ways millennials
express their confidence.

GROUP3

May 25, 2022, Wednesday. Today is our Final Examination in Physical Education 2, our
dear professor Mrs. Marietta Bedia has a reminder in our canvas about the examination for this
day. Our final examination is a video presentation about the execution of Hip Hop Dance group
collaboration. We passed our final video presentation on time. We are hoping to get a perfect
score for this video presentation, maybe because we know in ourselves that we demonstrate the
proper execution of each figure and genre of dance. This is our last video presentation group
collaboration on this subject, we’re glad to work with each of our group mates because they are
cooperative and active in our group brainstorming and passing their videos on time.
103

GROUP 4

This week, we must submit our Hip-Hop Dance as our Exam. We decided to compile our
video clips to combine and resulted into 2-3mins of performance as required time limit.
104

GROUP 5

This week, 18 is scheduled as our exam day. We students are preparing for the upcoming
exam. In our ped subject, we prepare a dance step in a hip-hop style, and we will make sure that
our overall dance will be creative and energetic. We are all hoping for good results in our exam
week.
