SUBJECT: NEW STEERING BEARINGS WITH CHROME SPHERICAL BEARINGS


PURPOSE: To inform the field of new, improved steering bearings for extended life.
APPLICATION: Komatsu Electric Drive Dump Trucks:
930E-3: A30304 & Up;
930E-2: A30012, A30098, A30100, A30121 - A30303;
930E-1: 32604-32816, A30019, A30026-A30120;

DESCRIPTION:

Some trucks in operation may experience premature steering bearing wear. New, chrome steering spheri-
cal bearings are now available for improved bearing life. The more durable bearings can be used as direct
substitutes for the previous bearings. Refer to Table 1.

New steering bearing kits have also been developed to improve bearing life and reduce maintenance.
Each kit contains dust seals to keep dirt and dust from entering the bearing cavities, and anti-rotation
retainers to prevent excessive oscillation of the bearings. Refer to Parts & Service News Bulletin,
AA03164, Steering Bearing Improvement Kits, for more information.
