Produced Water Re-Injection for Sitra
2017 – 2020
Client: Badr Petroleum Company (BAPETCO)
Project Description
The Sitra field, located approximately 10 km south-east of the BED-3 plant, was discovered in 1982.
Due to uninspiring early drilling results, the field was largely neglected until 2008 when a series of
appraisal wells confined that the reservoir was substantially larger than initially believed.
The Phase 1 Redevelopment included an additional 15 wells by 2011, and Phase 2 followed with a
further 16 wells by 2015. Recent drilling, and a renewed focus on water flood, has confined that there
may be significant upside potential to the Sitra fields.
However, the BED-3 facility is currently liquids constrained. An exercise has been undertaken to
identify & propose solutions for bottlenecks that will increase the plant oil capacity from 23 kbpd to 30
kbpd. In addition, the water rates are expected to rise sharply from 2016. This project will raise the
water capacity for Sitra to 20 kbpd, and the overall BED-3 plant to 30 kbpd.
Accordingly, Bapetco intends to install a project to de bottleneck BED3 liquid processing facilities.

Water Disposal System Refurbishment at Safaniyah
2019 - 2021
Client: Saudi Aramco
Project Description
The proposed design involves pressurizing the CPIs and DGFs to normal operating pressures of 19 psig
and 14 psig respectively using motive fuel gas, which is currently used to blanket the CPIs, DGFs and
FWTs. The existing DGF vendor has advised the maximum DGF operating pressure is 15 psig and above
this pressure oil separation efficiency is reduced. The pressurization of the CPIs and DGFs will overcome
the gravity flow limitation in the system, thereby allowing the FWTs to be operated with liquid levels
up to the overflow line elevation in the tanks. The existing DGF Recirculation Pumps (G26-G-1421
A/B/C/D/E/F/G) shall be assessed for the new operating scenario
The fuel gas in-breathing and out-breathing requirements shall be based on the design conditions of CPI and
DGF. The fuel gas is supplied from sales gas to CPI and DGF and the out-breathing gas shall be routed to flare
header.

Zohr Development concept envisages subsea deep water architecture with production directly
routed to shore by means of dedicated pipelines. The wells will be controlled via main long distance
umbilicals from a new shallow water control platform, the infield umbilicals will be used to divert the
control to each well.
The field is developed through 3 phases; the current two phases are including 20 wells connected via
rigid infield flowlines to 7 off manifolds which in turn export the production through 3 main trunk lines
(1 off 26” and 2 off 30”). Field is served with 2 off 14” service lines in addition to 2 off 8” MEG injection
lines composing a closed loop for effective continuous MEG injections into XTs.
