The negative impacts of computer to employment.

Technological unemployment occurs when the manpower in the society is

substituted for the automated services that a computer provides. Due to the high speed,
efficient and time saving services that the computer provides have removed a lot of
people from employment. There are so many sectors that have been affected by this but
my focus will be on the industrial sector.

• There is much dependency on the use of robots. Every factory or industry are
depending on the use robots due to their efficiency, reliability and time saving
services that they offer and ignoring the work force that men provides. This limits
the amount of employment that this factories offer and give rise to unemployment.

• Warehouse workers are individuals that specialized in transporting, loading,

packaging of cargo and goods into warehouses. But the advancement of
technology have brought machines that fully automate the process. This increases
the rate of unemployment.

• Data entry clerks are agents that manually input, organize, delete and modify data
of an establishment or organization. As computer technology improves, systems
are made to fully automate these procedures due to their efficiency and cost
saving. This have left data entry clerks jobless.

• Human computers are individuals in charged of solving problems and processing

data for company. They usually work in teams to increase the accuracy of their
results. Advancement in computer technology brought upon software that could
solve all the issues in the shortest time possible and give more accurate results.
Hence human computers have been substituted for automated computers giving
rise to unemployment.

Although technology is eliminating and reducing the demands for certain jobs,
there are positive outcomes like reducing cost and increase in safety. For every negative
impact caused by technology, there is something positive to gain.
