"Serum CA 125 is elevated in majority of cases of epithelial ovarian cancer, specially in the advanced stages. Elevated levels are also seen in some non
ovarian malignancies including cervical, liver, pancreatic, lung, colon, stomach, biliary tract, uterine, fallopian tube, breast, and endometrial carcinomas
as well as in some benign conditions like cirrhosis, hepatitis, endometriosis, first trimester pregnancy, ovarian cysts, and pelvic inflammatory disease. "
