RNC
Description
This counter provides the number of times that silence is detected in uplink for AMR calls(narrowband and
wideband AMR services) on an RNC.
Measurement point
The RNC detects the speech frames in uplink at the IUUP layer. It checks whether frame loss or erroneous frame
exists in uplink at the IUUP layer every two seconds. If the ratio of lost frames or erroneous frames exceeds the
threshold for three consecutive measurement periods (a measurement period lasts two seconds), the RNC
considers that silence is detected in the call. Only one silence can be calculated for a call, regardless of the
number of times that silence is detected during the call.
