Management Decision Making

GGG owns a landscape company but faces challenges with their scheduling system. They currently use a manual process where the administrative manager checks availability and books appointments. This often leads to scheduling issues where customers have to reject alternate dates. Implementing an integrated system could help GGG work more efficiently and gain more customers. Research found that ERP software solutions could automate processes to streamline operations and provide useful insights. Systems like NetSuite, Acumatica and Method CRM were identified as potential options to integrate scheduling, payments and other functions for GGG. A thorough implementation plan and training would be needed to successfully adopt a new technology system.

The Martin family owned a dairy farm that served as the foundation for Green Grove Gardens.
The Martins began hosting weddings for friends in the community many years ago because they
were aware of the unique setting's beauty. The Martins added water features and landscaped
gardens to the property over the years.
This report aims to solve technological issues GGG has and the key business challenges they
facing at this point.
And the major way to fix the issues is to conduct research on how landscape company works in
modern days and how to implement modern day technologies. A through recommendation is also
included in the report which helps the reader when to do what at an efficient pace.

Introduction and Organizational Context

Services or retail operations like bakeries, grocery stores, medical stores, tradespeople, and small
manufacturing units are examples of small businesses. Small businesses are independently
owned businesses that don't need as much machinery, staff, or capital. Serving a local
community and making a profit for the owners of the company are ideal goals for these small
businesses.
Green Grove Gardens operated by a brother-and-sister team outsources the majority of core tasks
to handymen, who are closely supervised by them, such as: cutting grass; trimming and planting
small trees, shrubs, and flowers; utilizing fertilizers to encourage plant and lawn growth; and
using pesticides and herbicides to get rid of weeds, insects, and other unwelcome creatures. The
remaining three employees—one Administrative Manager (AM), one Finance Officer (FO), and
one Garden Chemist (GC), each of whom creates individual formulas—work from a small office
with a large room at the back that houses all of the landscaping tools. It also houses GGG
products like mulch, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, as well as garden hose, which
customers can order over the phone and pick up from the office.
By reading the case it seems like the key business challenge GGG has, is the appointment issue.
Instead of having technologies they cant use it for their good. According to case Customers new
and old call GGG to schedule a landscaping appointment for a specific date and time. The
availability is then checked by the AM. The AM makes the booking if they are available. The AM
provides the next dates and times that are available if there is no availability. Customers may
reject alternate dates from time to time. Customers are required to make a standard payment
of £150 to secure an appointment. After the work is done, this deposit goes toward the final
payment. If an appointment is canceled less than 72 hours in advance, the deposit is
nonrefundable.

And the technological issue they facing is that they don’t have an integrated system which
making it hard for them to work in a busy schedule.

It is necessary for GGG to implement an integrated system so that they can be more efficient.
As of now GGG is facing a jam schedule which is causing their customer to drop deals as they
sometimes have a busy schedule and also, they need man power which is quite unnecessary. So
if they implement a system that is integrated and automated they can gain more out of this as
well as they can work more efficiently.

Research And Feasibility Study

Making decisions is a natural and necessary part of any company's management process in any
industry. And that's exactly what a manager's job in an organization is all about: making
decisions on a regular basis to make sure the company grows and achieves its goals.

In the past, managers only had their experience, limited knowledge, and instinct (and
sometimes just plain old guesswork) to rely on when making decisions. However, decision-
makers now have access to a vast amount of data, making the process much simpler as a result
of technological advancements.AI-powered algorithms are already being used by the world's
largest and most innovative businesses, such as Google, Amazon, and Facebook, in their
decision-making processes. Additionally, evidence suggests that AI-based systems will continue
to play a larger and larger role in real-world decision-making in the years to come. It’s hard to
deny the advantages of incorporating AI into your decision-making process. It is able to process
a large amount of data at once, is faster, and does not experience decision fatigue.

ERP - Due to its centralized approach to business processes, ERP software solutions have been
gaining popularity among businesses of all sizes. It allows you to gather, store, manage, and
analyze data from a variety of business units. Back-office processes and cross-departmental
workflows are both automated with ERP. The solution has the potential to boost profitability,
reduce costs, and drive efficiency when it is optimized.
However, there are still a lot of businesses that have yet to make an investment in one,
primarily due to the fact that they do not know what it can do or what to anticipate when
implementing one. You are in luck if you are one of these businesses. An in-depth analysis of
the features, types, and advantages of these ERP programs has been prepared by us. Also, we'll
show you how ERP systems typically cost so you can see how it affects your budget and give
you some examples to look at as you look for one for your business.

NetSuite ERP is integrated ERP software designed for rapidly expanding businesses. The
platform provides a scalable interface with everything you need, including payment processing,
vendor management, inventory management, and financial management. It is able to automate
a wide range of front- and back-office procedures, making it much simpler to streamline
operations. In addition, it provides users with powerful reporting tools that provide useful
insights into your performance. The weakness I found in this is its not cloud based which is
quite hassle full in this era of internet.

Acumatica is a cloud-based ERP system that enables rapidly expanding businesses to thrive in
the digital economy. With its robust ERP application suite, it provides every organization with
the appropriate foundation for creating an environment that is both adaptable and effective.
Acumatica is best suited for small and medium-sized businesses with mobile and telework
setups. This one has issues with big organization. So If one is looking for something that boosts
multinational organization then acumatica is not the one.

of enterprise-use cases, including AP automation, task management, logistics, and compliance.
It also has robust analytics and reporting module and works well with other business systems.

Method:CRM is designed to fully integrate with QuickBooks, facilitating process enhancements

for sales teams. This platform has lead management, invoicing, time tracking, work order
management, and other features that are trusted by hundreds of businesses worldwide. Teams
can use this to streamline sales procedures, acquire more leads, and provide customized
customer experiences. Additionally, it has a highly scalable interface that enables it to adapt to
the needs of your business.

Frameworks and implementation

Top management provides all human and financial resources for successful implementation of
ERP, without their involvement and support, the company would not implement the ERP
system. They provide the necessary resources, leadership for ERP implementation, clear
directions of the project, training and their role extend to the post implementation stage. The
business processes were clearly reengineered before ERP project started, the implementation
approach was step-by-step, the majority of employees were well trained, and the configuration
process was created to allow the company to save time and money. Training and education
regarding the ERP system started at the beginning of the project for some selected employees;
this kind of training was about how the system would work and how it would change the
different business processes. Employees received, from the early stages of the ERP project,
different kinds of training in the company as well and training tools were provided in hard
copies for individual training.

SOWT and PESTEL analysis

Political Factors - GGG. is operating in Small Tools & Accessories in more than dozen countries
and expose itself to different types of political environment and political system risks. The
achieve success in such a dynamic Small Tools & Accessories industry across various countries is
to diversify the systematic risks of political environment. can closely analyze the following
factors before entering or investing in a certain market-

Bureaucracy and interference in Small Tools & Accessories industry by government.

Economic Factors - The Macro environment factors such as – inflation rate, savings rate,
interest rate, foreign exchange rate and economic cycle determine the aggregate demand and
aggregate investment in an economy. GGG. can use country`s economic factor such as growth

Social Factors - Shared beliefs and attitudes of the population play a great role in how

Technological Factors - Over the last 5 years the industry has been transforming really fast, not
even giving chance to the established players to cope with the changes. Car industry is fast
moving toward automation led by technology firm such as Google & manufacturing is disrupted
by Tesla, which has stated an electronic car revolution. Slow speed will give more time while
fast speed of technological disruption may give a firm little time to cope and be profitable.

clauses in case of mishaps or environmental disaster.

My suggestion
I would suggest the Acumatica ERP system as it is cloud based and have almost all the perks
that GGG can use and quite price friendly. I would definitely suggest Acumatica as an ERP
system for GGG.

Evaluation within Case

The project team will handle a broad range of roles related to the implementation, including
laying out the project plan and target dates, ensuring adequate resources are allocated, making
product and design decisions, and day-to-day project management. Involving senior
management is critical to ensure the project gets the resources it needs and to provide the
backing needed to implement change across the organization. It should also include any
internal specialists involved in implementing the system, such as a representative from IT and a
report writer who will develop customized reports for users across the organization.

One of the team`s early goals will be to develop a detailed understanding of current issues,
including process inefficiencies and requirements for the ERP system. If the organization has
previously developed an ERP business case, it may have already defined broad business issues
and goals for the implementation, which may include a faster financial close, improved insight
into operations or preparing for an IPO.

The team may select and acquire an ERP system during this phase, as the organization develops
a clear idea of its requirements.

The design phase works from detailed requirements and an understanding of current
workflows to develop a detailed design for the new ERP system. It`s important to involve users
in the design phase, since they have the most intimate understanding of current business
processes.

In parallel with software development, the team should develop training materials to help users
adjust to the new system. This phase should also encompass testing of the migrated data and
include introductory end-user training.
5 Changes –

1) Automated ordering
2) Customer can know the availably of GGG
3) Customer can pre book appointment
4) Customer can upload their requirements and get the ideal package
5) Most importantly GGG can direct feedback from the customers through online which
will help them do better with their service

Opportunity – The opportunity that GGG will Threat – The major threat they possess after
have, is they can take more appointment and implementing ERP is that they are fully
thus can generate more revenue which is dependent on the internet. So, internet
huge just for changing couple of things controls so much of their business now.
Recommendations and Conclusions

The major challenge that GGG will face after implementing the new ERP will be operating that
ERP most efficiently. And the main reason for that is most of the people are not familiar with
new technologies. So, if they don’t know how things works, they can’t use it properly.

So, to tackle this problem they can conduct a program that will teach the operator how to use
the system in and out.

In conclusion for GGG their business before and after ERP implementation has huge difference.
So, they have to consider every possible output good or bad. And work on them to develop
their new system. They might face a bit drawback at first as this is a new system but after they
get the hang of it, they will rise rapidly as it will increase the productivity of the company.
