 Blended learning defined

Blended learning is an approach to learning that combines traditional training


and online learning activities. The online part of training does not replace face-to-face
training with a teacher; teachers incorporate technology to enhance the learning experience
and broaden understanding of certain topics. For example, they can share a link to a video and
offer students to watch it at home, email their review to a teacher, and then discuss in class.

Virtual Learning Environments are gradually becoming an essential part of the approach for
delivering online and flexible learning. They are often built to emulate the traditional learning and
teaching structures and processes of schools and universities

• face-to-face and online learning activities


• traditional timetabled classes with different modes
• technologies such as lecture and/or with social media and emerging technologies
