Professional Competences To be able to identify and diagnose a dental-maxillary disorder and to
(knowledge and skills) evaluate the treatment need:
- identifying the dental-maxillary disorders (dentition
development disorders and malocclusions);
- identifying the trigger factors for the dental-maxillary
disorders;
- evaluation of the minimum paraclinical examination set for the
orthodontic diagnostic (the study cast and the interpretation of the
panoramic radiography).
To be informed and capable to indicate the necessity of a space
maintainer and of a removable orthodontic appliance for the treatment
of the isolated dental anomalies and of the cross bite.

9. Correlations between the contents of the discipline and the expectations of the
epistemic community, of professional associations and of employers in the field
Knowledge and skills are established as didactical objects and specified as such in revised annual analytical
programs. After the analysis within this discipline, a curriculum bureau framework is discussed and
approved in the sense of harmonization with other disciplines. Throughout this process is systematically
assessed as directly as possible the correspondence between content and the expectations of the academic
community, community representatives, professional associations and employers. As a primary goal, this
discipline aims to offer students the optimal premises for the next years of study in the medical degree
program, in the perspective of successful employment immediately after graduation, in postgraduate
programs in Romania and other countries.
