Procedure text is a text that explains, inform or helps reader on how to make or use
something.
2. What is the purpose of procedure text?
The purpose of procedure text is to explain how something is made, done or used through
successive steps (to show how something is made/used/done through a sequence of steps).
3. What is the generic structure of procedure text?
AIM/GOAL: It is contain the purpose of the text. (e.g : How to make omelette)
MATERIAL / INGREDIENT: It is contain of the materials that used in the process. (e.g :
the material to cook omelette are egg, onion, vegetable oil,
etc)
STEP: It is contain of the steps to make something in the goal. (e.g : first, wash the
tomatoes, onion, …., second cut the onions becomes slice.
4. Mention the language features of the procedure text?

Simple
present Procedure text must be written using the Simple Present Tense.

Imperative Example: Add 3 onions and mix well. Next, wash your hands for around 20

Temporal Temporal Conjunction are used in procedure text to connect the next steps so
Conjunction that the list of instructions made is coherent and easy to reach.
Example: first, second, then, after that, finally, and so on.

Adverb There are 2 types of adverbs used in procedure texts, namely:


(adverb) 1. Adverb of time or adverb of time that indicates how long we have to do
something.
Example: in 10 minutes, for 1 hour.
2. Adverb of manner or description of how to do something.
Example: slowly, well, evenly.

Action
verbs, for example: make; take; boil; cook.

To make French Toast, you need:

1. Break the eggs, then pour the milk in the bowl.
