Today, as the Internet becomes more accessible than ever before, e-learning has exploded.

While there is no denying the benefits of online learning, taking online courses is by no means
flawless.
On the one hand, learning on the Internet is beneficial in many ways. First, it is extremely cost-
efficient. Online courses’ low tuition fees make them accessible to the masses. Second, web-
based classes help learners overcome time constraints and geographical boundaries, which is
particularly helpful for people in rural or remote areas.
On the other hand, this practice is disadvantageous to a certain level. The most compelling
reason is that online courses lack physical interaction necessary for some certain subjects. For
example, Physics, Chemistry and Biology involve lab set-up and experiment equipment, which
makes them difficult to learn on the Internet exclusively. Next reason is that online courses do
not encourage interactive activities, which are helpful for students and only acquired in
traditional classrooms.
In conclusion, online learning is either advantageous or disadvantageous, depending on the
learning subject.
