    INTRODUCTION
`
          INTRODUCTION
Teenage pregnancy, also known as adolescent pregnancy, is pregnancy in a female
under the age of 20, according to the WHO.Pregnancy can occur with sexual intercourse after
the start of ovulation, which can be before the first menstrual period (menarche) but usually
occurs after the onset of periods. In well-nourished girls, the first period usually takes place
around the age of 12 or 13. Pregnant teenagers face many of the same pregnancy related
issues as other women. There are additional concerns for those under the age of 15 as they are
less likely to be physically developed to sustain a healthy pregnancy or to give birth For girls
aged 15–19, risks are associated more with socioeconomic factors than with the biological
effects of age. Risks of low birth weight, premature labor, anemia, and pre-eclampsia are
connected to biological age, as they are observed in teen births even after controlling for other
risk factors, such as access to prenatal care. Teenage pregnancies are associated with social
issues, including lower educational levels and poverty. Teenage pregnancy in developed
countries is usually outside of marriage and is often associated with a social stigmaTeenage
pregnancy in developing countries often occurs within marriage and half are planned.
Being one of the young mother in a first-world country I can say that it can affect one's
education. Teen mothers are more likely to drop out of high school. Young motherhood in an
industrialized country can affect employment and social class. Teenage women who are
pregnant or mothers are seven times more likely to commit suicide than other teenagers.
Pregnancy and giving birth significantly increase the chance that these mothers will become
high school dropouts but my mom and my father doesn’t want me to stop my studies, and I’m
lucky that it was a time of pandemic that’s why it was just online mode of classes which helps
me a lot while attending my school even I’m pregnant and as many as half have to go on
welfare. Many teen parents do not have the intellectual or emotional maturity that is needed to
provide for another life. Often, these pregnancies are hidden for months resulting in a lack of
adequate prenatal care and dangerous outcomes for the babies. Factors that determine which
mothers are more likely to have a closely spaced repeat birth include marriage.
`
    OBJECTIVES
`
             OBJECTIVES
Reduce the rates of pregnancies and births to youth in the target areas.
Increase youth access to evidence-based and evidence-informed programs to prevent
        teen pregnancy.
Increase linkages between teen pregnancy prevention programs and community-based
        clinical services.
Educate stakeholders about relevant evidence-based and evidence-informed strategies
to reduce teen pregnancy and data on needs and resources in target communities.
          RATIONALE
All over the world more and more “ Babies are having babies.” Meaning underage
kids are having kids. This is an important topic to be aware of because there are so many
ways to prevent pregnancy. More teens now than ever teens are dropping out of high
school mainly because of teens getting pregnant. Graduation rates of students that get
pregnant are liable to increase because of the increase in the population of teens having
children. By deciding to have a sexual activity you must know the precautions and
consequences that follow up. Pregnancy is something that can be prevented. There are
many ways to prevent teen pregnancy, here are the All of these is ways to prevent
pregnancy. Did you know that 3 out of 10 teenage girls will get pregnant before the age of
20? Teen pregnancy is something that should be talked about. You have to understand If
you have any questions about sex talk about it. You must educate your children about sex
education. For they need to understand with action there is a reaction.

    Narrative
     Report
`
The moment I open my eyes, I said to myself that this is it. This is where I can test all
my efforts during these past few weeks. It was on 3rd week of November when I started to
prepare for my upcoming webinar. I started with the layout of the certificates for my resource
speaker, committees, and participants. Some of my friends recommended that I should try
making them on an app called Canva. I tried but failed. I’m more used to MS word so I
downloaded the background only and started editing on my laptop. A few days after I
messaged my classmates and invited them to be on one of my committees and they all agreed.
I ask for ma’am Hazel Panton’s email so that I can send her the invitation to be my speaker
formally. As the ma’am Jean said each of us should have a role on the webinar so my supposed
to be moderator asked if I can be the moderator on my own webinar so that I will have the
opportunity to do the role. I was quite nervous that time but luckily my friend gave me a
sample script for her webinar. I practiced and practiced how I am going to enunciate the word
and the proper pauses so that there will be no errors. Fast forward to the actual day, I woke up
gave motivation to myself, and started to prepare the things I need. my hands are shaking at
that time and then the webinar started. Dean asked if who will be the second presenter are and
said that it was me.
I started to deliver the basic etiquette to have a smooth flow of the webinar. I then
called Ms. Ressa Cabanes to lead the prayer and to be followed by Ms. Carol Salcedo presented
the Philippine National Anthem. I was kind of worried that time because Dean was a bit losing
her patience when the Philippine National Anthem was not presented yet. After that, I
welcomed Ms. Millen Oliva to give us her opening remarks. From what I have observed
everyone is enthusiastically active during the first webinar. After the opening remarks, I called
Ms. Nessa Roman to introduce us to our invited resource speaker which is Mrs.Hazel M.Panton.
During the introduction, I was amazed by what I have heard. Our resource speaker graduated
Cum Laude and passed take 1 in examinations like LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers)
and Civil Service Examinations and also one of the Top 1 TOSB during her time. She is also an
active member of different Organizations here in Iriga. Her discussion was undoubtedly
informative and was helpful for us in understanding this serious topic. Also, it fits her topic
because she was also a mom to his son named Orson.
`
Indeed, factors responsible for teenage pregnancy of the students during this pandemic
are increasing nowadays and unhealthy for us, especially for our minds we should not normalize
teenage pregnancy especially if we are still studying. It makes us think about every negative
aspect that life gives us. But our resource speaker let us understand that this kind of thinking is
normal. It is okay to be a mom at a young age but let us look for the better side, especially our
parents are giving their best just to give us the welfare and education that we deserve as a
student at times but always try to look at the brighter side of life.
It is a very interactive webinar. As the discussion goes on Ma’am Hazel asked us through
the chat box different questions and she even held a game named Kokology. It is a game
wherein there will be an image or situation presented on the screen then afterward there is a
hidden meaning behind each choice. After the discussion, there should be an open forum, but
everything is seemed clear for everyone, so I presented the E-Certificate to be awarded to our
speaker, Mrs. Hazel M. Panton, and to my participants. Everything goes well as I have expected
minus the Philippine National Anthem part, and I couldn’t be more in pure bliss after a
successful webinar day along with the committees I have worked with and of course with Mrs.
Camila for acknowledging and granting my request. I am deeply thankful for my team, and I
take credit for their wonderful professionalism and dedication to helping me conduct this
experience successfully. And of course, to our motherly Dean, Dr. Arlene Monsalve for allowing
us to experience this nerve-wracking but beneficial task. This will surely help us in our future
endeavors as an educator and a speaker.
Despite having a difficult situation, we still have the opportunity to enhance and change
ourselves for the better. I am happy that despite everything I’ve been through I’m still here
fighting for my life though I am one of the student moms in our country, I look on to my son
Lucas to be my inspiration to finish my studies and hope that I can be her future teacher in
school. I may have experience judgments, downfalls, depression, and postpartum depression
that I am facing right now. I’m still striving for my goal and aiming to be successful. Hoping
that one day all my bruises and scars will bear the sweet success that I have been aiming for
since day one.

    Reflection
`
` Teenage pregnancy can be defined as a pregnancy that occurs in young girls below the
age of twenty, regardless of whether they are married or of adult age. Teenage pregnancy has
been increasing at an alarming rate, especially in the United States, Africa, and the United
Kingdom. It has become a global concern because it not only affects the teenager and her
family but the society in general. An Increase in teenage pregnancy will, in the end, lead to
increased child poverty as well as degradation of the child’s well-being. One of the major causes
of teen pregnancy is the absence of affectionate supervision from parents or guardians. In the
current society, parents are either too busy or too permissive. Apart from the provision of basic
needs, parents and guardians are not involved in the emotional stability of the girl child.
Teenagers, especially girls go through intriguing situations and changes in which they need
parental support to understand and accept the changes. In case they lack this affectionate
supervision from their parents, they seek answers from boyfriends who “seem” to be giving the
affection and attention that ends up with a pregnancy. Another major cause of teenage
pregnancy is peer pressure. As children grow into teenagehood, there is increased pressure to
fit into certain peer groups. The peers may then push the girl into having sex to fit well in their
group. In addition to this, modern society allows teenagers to have a lot of time and space with
the opposite sex on their own, which results in instances of pregnancy at teenage hood. Other
factors key to this concept is sexual abuse as well as the use of drugs and alcohol.
Teenagers are exposed to alcohol and drugs making them lose control over their
sexuality when drunk thus leading to pregnancies. Sexual abuse on the other hand occurs when
the girls go for sex for pleasure without understanding the sexual impact. It is also evident
when an adult sexually victimizes a teenage girl or a minor. Lack of sex education in schools for
teenage girls has also contributed to increased teen pregnancy. This is because it leads to
indulgence in sexual activities without understanding the possible effects. It is therefore
important to let girls understand issues surrounding sex and their sexuality as well as the
possible impacts. Teenage pregnancy also brings about physical and psychological trauma to
the girl since she is faced with many dilemmas exposed to her by the family and society. It also
makes the parents feel ashamed because of their alleged negligence as viewed by the public or
society. Lastly, teenage pregnancy has largely contributed to child poverty, since the girls are
forced to drop out of school to take care of their babies.
