Abstract
Did you know that in the era of globalization learning English is very important? In
the era of globalization, we are required to be able to compete with other nations. However,
this will not work well if we are foreign language skills are minimal. Of the many languages
that exist, English is a must-learn thing. English is an international language used in various
fields. Starting from economics, politics, business, to technology. Therefore, English
proficiency is one of the main requirements to compete in the era of globalization. Language
not only acts as a communication tool but can also make it easier for us to adapt to we are
environment and work. Therefore, it is important for us to learn English. By mastering
English, we are one step ahead of achieving your goals. Whether it's for a career, business
continuity, or adding connections. Therefore, it is very important to improve we are English

In the era of globalization, English is very important because language is a bridge to
socialize with various kinds of great people. There are many benefits that can be obtained if
we study English, among others:
1. Learning English Improves Intelligence
2. Opportunity to work in large companies is wide open
3. It's easier to keep up with the times
4. It's easier to understand technology
5. Learning English Increases Confidence
6. Bridging the Differences
7. Provision for Continuing Education
For the improve we are skill English, there are 4 things we do. First, we will listen
(listening), then speak (speaking), then read (reading), and finally write (writing).

In the era of globalization, English is very important because language is a bridge to
socialize with various kinds of great people. There are many benefits that can be obtained if

Learning more than one language has an impact on brain development and prevents us from
the risk of senile disease that often strikes in old age.
If we start to get used to learning English, then gradually the brain tends to be more receptive
to other foreign languages.
2. Opportunity to work in large companies is wide open
As we know, big companies usually set high standards. Not only in terms of academic and
work experience, but also the ability to communicate in foreign languages.
By learning English, we will get added value that can increase your chances of being
accepted.
3. It's easier to keep up with the times
English is known as the world's lingua franca. More than fifty countries in the world use
English as their everyday language. With English language skills, it will be easier for us to
keep up with the times regarding the latest information, issues, and news.
4. It's easier to understand technology
Almost of the latest technology, such as smartphones, laptops, televisions, machines, to
software are operated using English.
5. Learning English Increases Confidence
Many companies conduct job interviews in English. At least by understanding English, it will
be easier for us to understand what other people want to convey so that indirectly we are
confidence will increase.
6. Bridging the Differences
With English language skills, communication becomes smoother. The more often we speak
English, the more we are skills will be honed and developed.

can also exchange cultural information with foreigners you meet in different parts of the
world.
7. Provision for Continuing Education

Listening is very important in learning any language. By listening, we can imitate things and
increase our accuracy when speaking. The way to learn to listen effectively is to listen
actively, which is to pay attention not only to the content of the speech, but also to how it is

Most people find it difficult to start a conversation in English because they are not used to it.
Therefore, it is important to often practice English in your daily life. Don't be afraid to make
mistakes because it's a natural thing in the learning process.
3. Reading
Although Indonesian people's reading interest is low, reading is an activity that can support
your language learning process faster because it makes your mind accustomed to interpreting
a sentence, phrase, or other idiom. In addition, by reading you will learn more about
grammar, tense, and sentence structure.
4. Writing
Writing is a challenge for most Indonesian people. But with a little will and discipline,
anyone can get used to it. By writing, you will memorize vocabulary that you have read
before. When writing, especially for formal writing, your grammar skills will be fully tested.

Listening is a vital primary stage of language acquisition. If students do not listen or
learn to listen well, then the latter stages of the complex pattern of language acquisition
within a productive framework (in other words, Speaking and Writing) in the communicative

In global market, being literate is highly demanded in order that people can
participate actively in larger society and in international activities such as international
conference, research exchange, join research, and business and commerce. Being literate does
not only contribute to personal development or personal learning, but being literate also leads
