THROWBALL(WOMEN) RULES:

In Throw ball, the ball is thrown over the net, where a member of the other team tries to catch the
ball and quickly throw it back across the net.

The right to choose the initial order of serving, receiving and ends shall be decided by toss and the
winner may choose to serve or to receive first or to start at a particular end.

Team should comprise of playing 7 (and maximum 2 substitutes).

Each match will be best of three sets (15 points in each set).

The tournament will be played on a knockout basis.

There will be rally scoring in which points can only be scored when serving.

Matches will be played using international rules.

For service:

 The ball should be released from above the shoulder line.


 Server cannot cross the line till the ball crosses the net
 Side arm and under arm throws are considered a foul
 Ball should be released within 5 sec of whistle

For return:

 The ball should be caught with both hands and returned with one hand only, player cannot
catch the ball with assistance of body or legs.
 Players cannot touch the net during the play but the ball can touch the net and game
continues.
 Two players cannot catch the ball simultaneously.
 Fumbling after receiving the ball is a foul.
 Jumping when catching the ball is not allowed. However, spot jumping is allowed while
throwing the ball.
 After catching, the ball must be released within three seconds.
 After receiving, one leg should be pivoted, and the other leg should not be moved more than
one step.
 A ball caught in the middle can be thrown from either side, ball caught from either side will
have to be thrown from the same side.
 During a rally, if a ball bounces off the net on the same side. Another teammate can catch
and throw the ball provided it has not bounced.
 On the line will be considered as in.
 During the rally, a ball can touch the net.
 Passes are not allowed in Throwball, as soon as a player receives the ball, they should return
it over the net immediately.
 Two timeouts of 30 seconds each are permitted for each set.
 In case of any argument or disagreement, the decision of the referee will be considered as
final and binding.
